Spyboy anyone?

I was just wondering if I was the only person who remembers Peter David's Spyboy series? It came out a few years ago, before he signed his exclusive contract with Marvel, and I always got a kick out of it. I'm betting that I'm the only person who knows about this series though...

  1. Yes, I loved the series. I have them all, plus both specials, and both mini series. I think the only one I'm missing is #13. It was one of my favorites, and I was really sad to see it go. I'm glad you brought it up, I haven't thought about that book in quite a while.

  2. That comic was pure Peter David at his best! When I was collecting the series, I went CRAZY looking for #13, but was never able to find it.

I later discovered that for whatever reason, they NEVER published a #13! Later on, after the main series ended, David published a mini-series entitled Spyboy, The Manga Affair. These issues were numbered 13.1, 13.2, and 13.3!

So, by following this logic, The Manga Affair is actually the missing #13, broken into 3 parts!

It's great to hear that someone else actually read and enjoyed that comic, because it was definitly an overlooked gem.

Hopefully, the explanation for #13 helped out, because it took me forever to figure out what was up with #13!

Who knows, maybe when Peter gets out of his Marvel contract, he'll revisit the characters.

Oh, and I don't know what you thought about the end of the last mini-series, Final Exam, but I loved the open ended way Peter left it. It really left the possibility for so many future storylines, depending on the choice Alex would wind up making.
