Zounds, it's a comic book review blog! If you're looking for comic reviews, comic related thoughts, comic spoilers and all around madness you've come to the right place. Sit back and let the insanity engulf you!
Yes, I loved the series. I have them all, plus both specials, and both mini series. I think the only one I'm missing is #13. It was one of my favorites, and I was really sad to see it go. I'm glad you brought it up, I haven't thought about that book in quite a while.
ReplyDeleteThat comic was pure Peter David at his best! When I was collecting the series, I went CRAZY looking for #13, but was never able to find it.
ReplyDeleteI later discovered that for whatever reason, they NEVER published a #13! Later on, after the main series ended, David published a mini-series entitled Spyboy, The Manga Affair. These issues were numbered 13.1, 13.2, and 13.3!
So, by following this logic, The Manga Affair is actually the missing #13, broken into 3 parts!
It's great to hear that someone else actually read and enjoyed that comic, because it was definitly an overlooked gem.
Hopefully, the explanation for #13 helped out, because it took me forever to figure out what was up with #13!
Who knows, maybe when Peter gets out of his Marvel contract, he'll revisit the characters.
Oh, and I don't know what you thought about the end of the last mini-series, Final Exam, but I loved the open ended way Peter left it. It really left the possibility for so many future storylines, depending on the choice Alex would wind up making.
