More CULLING(!!!)!!!
Legion Lost #9:
Story Points:
-The combined forces of the Legion Lost crew, Superboy and the Titans can't make a dent against Harvest and his Null Field.
-Harvest REALLY loves talking about his Null Field.
-Harvest keeps dropping hints that he's from the Legion's time, and that he instigated them coming back in time.
-Timberwolf realizes that Kid Flash was from their time period and wants to attack a confused Kid Flash, but is prevented by his teammates.
-Wildfire(presumably the most powerful of the Legion Lost members) unleashes the full force of his powers against Harvest, but Harvest's Null Field(!)(yes, his Null Field now gets an exclamation point as well) holds up, and this issue ends with Harvest telling the two teams to surrender or die.
Thoughts: Again, like with Superboy, I really enjoyed this issue. It was basically one long battle against Harvest, but several tantalizing hints were dropped about Harvest, his motivations and origin, as well as Kid Flash's origin which kept the battle interesting. I did ignore the Rose/Fairchild stuff because it didn't really seem to lead to anything, but they were here as well. I have to say, this storyline is shocking the hell out of me with how strong it is.

Teen Titans Annual #1
Okay, I'm back on my regular schedule tonight! Well, that's not exactly accurate as I actually typed this review up yesterday and set it to post now... But that's neither here nor there. What is here is the comic that I'm fairly certain I picked for my Runt of the Litter this week! That probably didn't need an exclamation point actually... Eh, anyway, I'm hoping this issue turns out better than I'm expecting, but I'm not holding my breath.
Teen Titans Annual #1:
Summary: You know what happens when two super-hero teams meet up for the first time, don't you? The Teen Titans and the Legion squad from the Legion Lost series have both been captured by Harvest for THE CULLING(!!!) which is now getting the over-the-top treatment since we STILL don't know what it's all about/why Harvest does it/how long it's been going on... Anyway, the Titans think the Legionaries are Ravagers for Harvest, while the Legionaries believe the same thing about the Titans. If you can't figure out what happens next, you REALLY need to read more comic books... After the obligatory super-hero misunderstanding© ends, Harvest sends his major troops out to... um, CULL(!!!) the two team, I guess.
Thoughts: Sarcasm aside, this wasn't a terrible comic book. To be honest, I was expecting way worse. Yeah sure, this NOWHERE/Harvest storyline has gone on way too long for my tastes(which seems to be a running theme regarding Scott Lobdell written comics), but this comic was just good, dumb fun. You really didn't need to think much while reading it, it was straightforward(or at least as straightforward as a Teen Titans comic has been post-reboot), and most importantly, Red Robin wasn't a half bird/half boy creature in this issue! Hey, I have to look for the good wherever I can find it!
Score: 6 out of 10.

Legion Lost #2
Well, I dropped the Legion of Super-Heroes series after one issue, but this series at least warranted another shot after an enjoyable first issue. With that said though, this series is on a VERY short leash...
Legion Lost #2:
What Happened: The Legionaries find out that Alastor had succeeded in introducing the plague from the future here in the present. The Legionaries come across a man who was losing his physical form and becoming a being of energy and try to help him, but are surprised to learn that the man didn't want help and was pleased with his new form. The Legionaries warn the man the he'll eventually lose the ability to become anything resembling human, but the man doesn't care and violently opposes the Legionaries, eventually dispersing.
The Good: The story was very well-crafted. Wildfire, who was an energy based being, didn't want to see somebody else have to go through life like he did... It gave Wildfire a personality and gave me a reason to care about him. The art was also strong. Fabian Nicieza is doing a good job building the characters here little by little.
The Bad: The battle here seemed unnecessary... The guy LIKED his new powers! Why was the Legion/Wildfire opposing him? There really wasn't much of a cliffhanger. Some of the characters still haven't done anything of note yet.
The Verdict: Even though I really liked this issue, I'm like 85% sure I'm going to drop this series from my pull list come Wednesday. Don't get me wrong, the two issues I read were strong, but I just don't see this series having a very long shelf-life... We all know what the end result is going to be. Eventually the Legionaries will get back home. The end. If this series sticks around past 12 issues(which I doubt) and has solid sales numbers, maybe I'll pick it up again. But sadly this is going to be one of the comics I shed to save some money I think.
Score: 8 1/2 out of 10.
Sure, throw a piece of wood at a guy made of energy... That'll definitely stop him!

Legion Lost #1
Last call! With the posting of this review I am officially done with my new comic pile from last week, which is good, since I'll be picking up a whole mess of new comics tomorrow... It's the neverending comic book circle of life!!
Legion Lost #1:
What Happened: Some villain from the future named Alastor has taken a Time Bubble and headed to the past(our present) to release some sort of disease/virus/something. A bunch of Legionaries have followed him hoping to halt his biological attack, but arrive 30 hours after Alastor did, giving Alastor plenty of time to do what he had planned. The Legionaries split up with one(Timberwolf) going after Alastor while the rest work on fixing their Time Bubble, which was damaged when they arrived. Timberwolf captures Alastor and the rest of the crew fix up the Bubble by using parts from Alastor's discarded Bubble. The Legionaries load Alastor onto the Bubble and prepare to head back to the future, but are surprised by an attack by Alastor which destroys the Bubble, apparently kills two Legionaries, seemingly allows Alastor to escape AND strands the Legionaries in the past.
The Good: The story was extremely fast-moving and engaging. Timberwolf(possibly my favorite Legionaries) was a member of this team. The villain of the piece, Alastor, seems to be more complex than your basic super-villain. I could care less about the two Legionaries who “died”(Gates and Chameleon Girl) since they weren't a part of my beloved Threeboot Legion.
The Bad: Besides Timberwolf, I have zero interest in this grouping of Legionaries. It's like they tossed all of their garbage into the Time Bubble and sent it into the past. There were too many characters here to get a feel for who was whom, what each character could do and why I should care. This must have been a nightmare read for anybody completely new to the Legion.
The Verdict: This was a solid first issue. It had it's faults, but overall I liked it. I think the team as is is UBER-weak, but at least I get Timberwolf here. He just has a lot of work to do to keep me interested. I'm not sure where this comic book can go, the Legionaries are stuck in the past... Okay, now what? But I'll definitely be sticking around to see what happens next.
