How I miss the pre-Yost New Mutants/New X-Men...

After reading the latest attempt by Marvel to restart the New Mutants, I couldn't help but think back to one of my all-time favorite titles, the last New Mutants series. Before Christopher Yost's hatchet job on that title, New Mutants/New X-Men was one of my guilty pleasures. For the most part, nothing really happened. It was just a comic detailing the lives of the students at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. There were rarely any big battles, it was just a light, easy read. For example, there was the time one of the students, Elixir(Josh Foley)was getting busy with Wolfsbane(Rahne Sinclair), who was a member of the faculty at the time.
Teen angst with mutant powers... Ah how I miss that series.

  1. So Wolfsbane is a statutory rapist? I mean if she's an adult and he's a young X-Man...

I shouldn't be to deeply surprised, and that kind of makes Elixir a reverse Deathstroke, but still...

  2. I bet that'll change the way you look at Wolfsbane, huh GL! For the record, she was a teacher(or a teacher's assistant, I don't remember)at Xavier's while she carried on her affair with Elixir.

Wolfsbane rationalized the whole thing to herself due to the fact that they were only seperated by a 3 year age difference. She was 19 and he was 16. Plus, after it got out, she told everyone that "nothing happened!"... Yeah, sure...

The Deathstroke thing was definitely creepier to me because he was WAY older than Terra! Then again, Wolfsbane is supposed to be a hero, plus as a teacher she was in a position of authority over Josh, so I guess they were both pretty bad in there own way...
