A preview for tomorrow night.

I just finished reading the "Starman: Sins of the Father" TPB, and all I can say is WOW! This trade collected Starman #0, #1-5. It was written by James Robinson and pencilled by Tony Harris. And it was F###ING awesome! Usually, upon finishing a comic, I try to post my thoughts immediately after completing it, but with school looming on Monday, I can't spend the next hour writing my thoughts about this comic, since I've got to get back into a normal sleeping schedule. But, I'll definitely be posting something about this TPB tomorrow. Now, before hitting the sack, I'll be searching around my favorite online comic shops in order to purchase as many Starman comics as I can afford!

  1. Hey, if you're interested in picking up the next few trades, cheap, I'll hook you up. Since I'm upgrading to the hardcovers I was planning on dumping mine on eBay, so I can let you have them for like $5 a pop if you want.

  2. Damn, I wish I would have known that last night! I actually brought the remaining 7 trades I needed from 2 seperate comic shops last night, and one of the shops already shipped out the order(or so they claim), which seems kind of strange since today is Sunday. Thanks for the offer though. Dammit, my impulse buying habit bites me in the ass again!!!

  3. Sorry man, though I'm a little jealous of you reading this for the first time. I've loved this book for so long, I kind of wish I could read it with fresh eyes. Anyway, if you liked the first book, it's all uphill from here, it's just a fantastically well constructed series.

  4. It's funny, back in the day, when this book was first being published, I don't remember hearing anything about it. My problem as a kid was that if the comic wasn't one of the big name titles, I'd ignore it.

I sometimes wonder how I could have missed so many great comics growing up. While the 90's produced a lot of crappy comics, there really seem to be some hidden gems out there that I'm just discovering, like Starman.
