New Comic Day! November 28th edition.

Hey comic fanatics, X here with this week's New Comic Day post!  Huzzah!  Instead of wasting a mess of time talking, how's about I just get into the books I'll be picking up from the comic shop in a few?  Sounds like a plan!  American Vampire #33, I, Vampire #14, Teen Titans #14, Morning Glories #23, A+X #2, All New X-Men #2, Captain America and Black Widow #639, FF #1, Thor: God of Thunder #2, Ultimate X-Men #19, Uncanny Avengers #2, Venom #27.1.  12 new books for me this week, which falls nicely in the acceptable range for me.  This week I'll be reviewing Uncanny Avengers #2, A+X #2 and either Thor #2 or FF #1...  I'm leaning more towards Thor though.  My review days are Friday, Sunday and Tuesday.  And there ya have it.  Now I'll be handing things over to JT and giving a hearty X out!

Or not...  It turns out that JT wasn't able to get his part of the NCD post up(which was actually my fault for not getting the post done sooner... Whoops!), so I'll handle things for him this week.  Mi amigo, Senor JT, plans on getting Bedlam #2, Uncanny Avengers #2, Thor: God of Thunder #2, Ultimate Iron Man #2, All-New X-Men #2, Batman: The Dark Knight #14 & Venom #27.1 from his comic shop at some point in the day.  He'll be reviewing All New X-Men #2, Batman: The Dark Knight #14 and Venom #27.1...  Good luck with that issue of Venom, JT...  If it's anywhere near as bad as the past few issues, I pity you...  Um, that's probably gonna do it for real now.  Now, officially, until next time, X out!

  1. hey x-man75, i'm a long time follower of your blog.
you might wanna pick up Batman,Inc. since it relates to Morrison's pre-reboot run (Batman 666,and the mythos of Dr.Hurt) plus its a big FU to the re-boot since it continues Bat's story.
Also Scott Lobdell deserves to die a slow and painful death as he is ruining Superman now.

    1. I slightly disagree on the Superman comment. Since Lobdell started on Superman it began to get more enjoyable for me, way more enjoyable than the past issues. There are some weird things that are going on like Clark thinking it's ok to spy on Lois for one but other than things like that its actually pretty good. Personally i'd take these 3 issues of Lobdell's run over the first 6 issues done by Perez.

    2. i do agree the story is better but his dialogue..its like he thinks the readers are dumb.also the way superman is written and shown is so different from the pre-reboot superman. yea the spying on Lois thing was weird.

    3. "the way superman is written and shown is so different from the pre-reboot superman" Oh yea, no doubt about it this is a totally different Superman. They are making him way too much like Peter Parker imo which I hate because Superman isn't anything like Peter Parker. I'm such a big Superman fan though that I try my best to put up with all the crap.

    4. I actually dropped Superman after one issue. That's how much I disliked the Perez run. It was agonizing. With that said, I'd NEVER, EVER pick up this series as long as Lobdell is writing it. He is just doing some of the worst work of his career in Red Hood and in Teen Titans. Like Astrovik with Supes though, I like Jason Todd, Tim Drake and Bart Allen so much that I'll keep putting up with the crap and hoping that one day DC will put a competent writer on those books!

  2. Are either of you still reading "Avengers?" Bendis just had his last issue. It's safe to return!

    1. Yup, I read that last issue of Avengers. Didn't really think much of it, but I hate Wasp, so there's that. I am kind of worried about Hickman taking over though... He tends to write WAY over my head at times and has a propensity for leaning on Reed Richards entirely too much. I would NOT be shocked to see Reed become an Avenger with Hickman at the helm!

    2. This story was probably the only Bendis story I came close to liking, but my enjoyment of it was obliterated by how unbelievably awful the last arc on "New Avengers" was. I'm just glad that he seems to be a different writer on X-Men. Fingers crossed, I guess. (If you can't tell, I'm still skeptical.)

  3. Also, are you reading this latest Remender arc on "Secret Avengers?" It's some pretty great stuff.

    1. I actually dropped that series until the relaunch. I just hated the Father/robot stuff too much to spend $4 on it a month

    2. Yeah, I did, too. But, something about what he's doing with it right now is pretty interesting. I think it's more that he's actually got them all acting like a team, something that pretty much has never happened in this series. I mean, Hawkeye actually gets Captain Britain to have banter! Imagine!

  4. Holy crap, "Uncanny Avengers" #2 is amazing. Remender is ON FIRE. (I'll stop now. Can you tell tonight's my comic-reading night?)

    1. JW! RIGHT?!? It was fantastic! I've got my review set to go up tonight, but yeah, it was amazing! I think I said it in the review, but it bears repeating, Marvel Now! has, for the most part, been great! Even Bendis is bringing it on X-Men! HA! Don't worry about stopping, keep on commenting, I always look forward to your comments!

    2. Unbelievable. I'll wait to comment until the review, but, MAN, it was a good issue.
