New Comic Day! May 9th edition.

Hey X-Maniacs, Vampire X here to welcome you all to brand new New Comic Day post! Huzzah!! Now, I'm typing this up at 4 in the morning, and will set it to post sometime Wednesday afternoon because I'll almost definitely be sleeping. When I wake up, I plan on hitting the comic book shop, that way I'll have all of my new comics to read during my hour break while I'm at work tonight. Here's the thing though... If I read all my books tonight, I won't have the time to type up any posts, which means I won't have anything new up tonight OR tomorrow night... However, I WILL try to type up as many posts as humanly possibly Thursday night. That way I'll have SOMETHING to post Friday. But I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, aren't I? Hows about we first check to see exactly what I'll be coming home with from the comic shop! Batman #9, Grifter #9, Superboy #9, Fatale #5(I won't be reading this yet), Invincible #91, Thief of Thieves #4, Walking Dead #97(I won't be reading this yet), Avengers Assemble #3, Avenging Spider-Man #7, Captain America #11, Captain America and Hawkeye #630, Deadpool #54, Journey Into Mystery #637, Scarlet Spider #5, Ultimate X-Men #11, Uncanny X-Force #25, Wolverine #306, Wolverine and the X-Men #10, X-Men Legacy #266 On top of that, I'm also planning on picking up Legion Lost #9 and New Avengers #26, which aren't on my pull list... So in other words, it's entirely possible that I'll be buying 22 comics this week... Needless to say, it's times like this that raise really comes in handy! The weird thing about this week, and all of those comics, is the fact that there's not one that REALLY stands out... I guess we'll go with Captain America and Hawkeye #630 as this week's Pick of the Litter... I gave the prior issue a perfect score, so here's hoping that trend of perfection continues. As for this week's Runt, I'll go with Wolverine and the X-Men #10... I just haven't been able to get into this series yet, and I don't expect that to change here. And that'll do it. I have NO idea exactly when I'll post the first reviews for this week, or how many I'll post when I do... Things are very much in the air this week. On the plus side, once I see how things work out this week, I'll know what to expect over the next couple of weeks. Until later, Vampire X out.

  2. I was going to assume Wolverine and the X-Men would be higher because we are assuming something happens there that explains all the characters there being on Cyclops' side. I let you know if anything significant happens in it so you can decide if you want to read it sooner.

  4. Well you could, in theory, toss up a link to my review of Legion Lost #9 when I get there. It's part of the Culling crossover and it came out today.

  5. Wolverine and the X-men was actualy really Damn good while some stuff pissed me off (F##K YOU RACHEL F$$K YOU ICE-T..... Iceman lol), they really dwelve into cyclops and wolverines reasoning for what there doing. and its defintatly the best ive seen from this book :)

X-men Legacy was also good...... but it will leave you with a strong wish to see thor smash Frenzys face in

Uncanny X-force was interesting i love the reveal at the end and deadpools eventual reaction to it, but the back ups where meh to bad i would suggest you rate them sepratley.

there is a Big Surprise at the end of Avengers Assemble that better as hell not be another fake out like it was before relativly recently
    :(

  6. Scarlet Spider was alright. It was more of a set-up comic, probably for Kaine to some how become affiliated with the Avengers...

And sense when is Nick Fury Black? isn't that, like, only in the Ultimate Universe? >.>

    1. Someone obviously hasn't read Battle Scars yet but there's a new sheriff in town.

  7. Legion Lost was another comic I ended up picking up today, Caz. I really went nuts at the comic shop yesterday... 25 books is crazy, even by MY standards!

Legacy was pretty good, Movieartman, although it actually had me siding with the X-Men, which is weird for me! The end of Assembled WAS awesome, and it BETTER not be a fake-out... AGAIN! That COULD lead to some awesome stuff! I didn't read X-Force or WatXM last night, so I really can't comment on those books.

Anon took the words right out of my mouth, Rage. Battle Scars introduces us to the new(movie/Ultimate) version of Nick Fury.

    1. It shouldn't be that weird. You weren't siding with Cyclops but with Rogue and Kitty... okay, that is pretty weird for you.

  9. I can never stop buying Legacy, because it's the only full run of a long-term ongoing I have. Luckily, it's been pretty good lately. Christos Gage is keeping it interesting.

I've decided to sit the AvX thing out and read it in trade if I hear that it's worth buying. I am only reading tie-ins if they occur in the books that I would buy anyway. I wish this event fatigue would have waited a little longer embrace me. I still have the taste of Fear Itself in my mouth.
