So Christmas has come and gone. Hopefully everybody out there reading this has had a healthy, happy and safe Christmas. And of course, hopefully Santa has left you plenty of goodies under the tree! As for me, I'm pretty happy with what I've received, I'm actually using it right now. My parents, in an attempt to save me time, picked up some cool speech recognition software for me. I've said it before and I'll say it again, when it comes to typing I suck! I mean I really suck! What would take a normal person an hour to type up, usually takes me at least two hours. Now all I have to do is say what I want to type down and viola, it appears on the screen. Now granted there are some kinks in the system, probably because of my weird accent, but for the most part it's pretty seamless. As a matter of fact, the last three reviews I put up on this blog I barely had to type anything. For the next couple of nights I'm going to keep experimenting with this program, because if it does work, it's going to be a lifesaver when college starts back up again in January.
Besides that, the only other thing of note I received was a 2010 Marvel calendar. I can't wait to put that up, because the calendar I've been using for 2009 was one of those freebies from the bank, and it actually looks pretty sad. Well, I think that's it for me, I was going to do a Best of the Rest post, but I'm starting to get on the tired side so it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I look forward to hearing from any of my fellow bloggers who feel like sharing what their Christmas was like, hopefully it was as nice and peaceful as mine was. Until next time, Long Live the Legion!!!
my friend dunbarry (from the "Reel Deal":
ReplyDeletehttp://dubarryreviews.blogspot.com)got me the Rage of the Red Lanterns hardcover, and I bought myself a ton of comics/trades and CDs. My mom got me a huge calendar that I can actually fit my monstrous handwriting onto.
For a guy who takes a while to type things out, you sure do have a lot of content on your posts. Are you sure you're as slow as you say?
That speech recognition software sounds awesome dude, I got some cash, my girlfriend and her mom bought me awesome leather jacket, and I got DJ Hero on PS3 which is actually a lot harder than it looks, all in all I had a pretty good Christmas too.
ReplyDeleteKello: You haven't read the Rage of the Red Lanterns storyline yet? Wow, I find that kind of hard to believe! Ha, I tend to do the same thing(buy myself gifts for x-mas). Usually I'll just tell people not to buy me anything, that way I can pick up things I know I want/need, and not have to offend anybody when I don't use the electric waffle maker they brought for me!
ReplyDeleteTo be honest with you guys, I'm actually finding it tougher to do the reviews on this site with the voice software! I think for school it will work wonders for me, but I have to say, it seems like my reviews have suffered since I've been using the voice software... Maybe it's all in my head, but when I double check my posts for errors, the posts all just seem subpar...
Jason: Cash, my favorite x-mas gift! Let me know how DJ Hero is Jason, as somebody who has played most of the Guitar Hero games, I'm definitely curious about that game.
I love it so far man, it's really fun, it's kinda hard but once you get the hang of it it's awesome.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that makes sense. I remember how long it took me to get the hang of the first Guitar Hero game, but eventually I was a guitar legend! OK, not really, but I was at least competant!
ReplyDeleteLol there's songs where someone csn DJ where the other person plays the Guitar on there, looks hard as hell on Guitar hero, there's like 6 buttons compared to the three on DJ Hero.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't sound all that bad actually. Especially since you can use the guitar, which is just collecting dust!
ReplyDeleteThe thing I hate is some of the Trophies you need a guitar to unlock, and I don't have one so I won't be getting the Platinum for that game.
ReplyDeleteAh, you're a trophy hound. Me, I never really got into the habit of checking out/accomplishing any of the trophies/achievements. For the most part, any trophies I get are completely by chance!
ReplyDeleteNeither am I, I just run outta stuff to do after I beat the game lol so that's where I usually end up. My friend has like 25 plats though!
ReplyDeleteDamn, 25 platinums?!? That guy must eat, sleep and drink video games! Jeez, I don't even have one... Then again, I prob haven't even played 25 PS3 games, so there's that as well!
ReplyDeleteDude he rents them and next thing you know, PLATINUM! I don't see how he does it. He had the platinum for Uncharted 2 within a week. I'm like you I think I've only played like ten games or such. But I just bought Modern Warfare 2 and I'm getting Borderlands.
ReplyDeleteMan, he must spend some crazy time on his games! I mean I'm usually playing something, but I'll usually play one game for a while and then sitch to an older game when I get bored/beat it. I do plan on picking up NHL 10 REALLY soon though. Usually I can play a sports game for a good long time before I get tired of it.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I was with Smackdown because there's so much to do but now I'm like ALWAYS playing Uncharted 2 because on the online Multiplayer action. Let me know how NHL 10 is though, I may pick it up and play you online.
ReplyDeleteHuh, I didn't realize Uncharted 2 even HAD a multiplayer mode! Color me surprised. I'm still in the early stages of NHL 10, I had NHL 09, but somehow it wound up breaking like a year ago, so I'm still trying to regain my lost moves.
ReplyDeleteReally? It's awesome dude, it's like combining the Halo multiplayer with Uncharted because you can climb stuff, pull people off ledges, do stealth kills. It rules. I'm not a big hockey fan but I do like playing Hockey games so I may check it out if you recommend it. Speaking of it I don't think you ever accepted my friends request on PSN lol.
