Batman #700... In three sentences or less!

Batman #700: After reading this comic it's safe to say that I'll NEVER understand a word of Grant Morrison's Batman work... This was another comic I read through and was just lost throughout... Score: 3 out of 10."It'll all make sense one day"... That's kind of my thoughts on Grant Morrison's entire Batman run up to this point! Or at least I hope so...

  1. Lol I gotta know, what did you thinkof the three main stories? The surprise of Terry is what made me enjoy the last one a little more than I would have...

  2. I just didn't get it! At all!! After a while I was just sort of going through the motions reading this one. I think by the end I was looking at the pictures wishing I was reading something else! I didn't even bother reading the Batman Beyond story, by the end of the first three, I was burnt out... Since I know NOTHING about the whole Batman Beyond thing, should I have given it a read?

  3. Lmao I feel you, I hated that first story so much. And the baby that Damian saved was Terry, that's what I was referring to.

Nah, I can explain everything about Batman Beyond if you want dude. In like... a Paragraph or less.

  4. Wait, so the Batman Beyond guy was the Joker baby?! How could that be? Like I said, I know next to NOTHING about Batman Beyond, but one thing I knew(or thought I knew)was that he was trained by Bruce Wayne in the future or something. If Damian saves him, where would Bruce be?

Yeah, okay, if you feel like it, go ahead. That way I can read that last story(and know what was going on!)

  5. Yeah, that baby had Joker venom, then Damian saves him and they said some shit like, Tell the Mcginnis's Baby Terry is safe. That's why I liked it.

Okay, Batman Beyond takes place in the future, Bruce was Batman and old and couldn't do anything anymore and when cornered by a criminal picked up a gun. Something Bruce swore never to do so he retired, Terry stumbled upon Bruce's secret and Bruce made him the new Batman, training him and watching through the interface in Terry's suit. Eventually we found out Amanda Waller used Bruce's DNA and gave an inoculation to Terry's father, thus making Terry Bruce's Genetic son. Which Bruce never knew about. It sounds stupid but it was surprisingly very well written. But yeah, I love it, oh and Babs is the Commish now. No word on Nightwing, Drake, Jason or Damian since he didn't exist when Batman Beyond was on.

  6. Cool, thanks for the info. I don't see how they could bring the Batman Beyond character into the mainstream DCU, especially since Damian seems destined to take over the cowl in Grant Morrison's Bat-verse. I guess I'll dig out Bats #700 and give that Batman Beyond story a shot now that I have some background info.
