The dread Accounting Homework strikes again!!!

Since I was pretty lazy this weekend(ie. I spent all my time watching football, playing video games and blogging)I wound up neglecting my Accounting homework until Sunday night... At 10: 15! So as I look at the clock it is becoming apparent that I definitely won't have the time to post any new reviews tonight. Yeah, I'm sure everybody is devastated... Or not. ;)

Anyway, before I hit the hay tonight I'll probably spend some time travelling around the blogosphere(which is like the atmosphere, only nerdier), checking out my favorite blogs, responding to comments and posting a few new pics over at the pic site. I think I'm going to make this Flash week over at the pic site. Why? I don't know, why not! Yep, so I'll probably be posting pics of the various Flashes(Jay, Barry, Wally and Bart)doing whatever it is Flashes do(run I guess...). Before I end this post, this upcoming week is actually pretty meaningful to me, Oct. 2nd in particular... A no-prize goes to the first person to figure out what makes Oct. 2 special to me.

  1. Birthday? First day you read a comic? Day ya started the blog? Something Sport team related?

  2. Right on the third try! Enjoy your no-prize Jason! Yep, 1 year ago Oct. 2 I started this blog up... Jeez, I can't believe it's been a year already...

  3. Ahh I knew I'd get it, well happy one year anniversary to your blog site. Unlike mine yours actually has loyal readers, so you're doing something right.

  4. Happy (upcoming) anniversary, X-Man!!!

Believe it or not, my blog's four month anniversry is on October 1! (Of course, that's rather insignificant, so I won't be celebrating anything. Plus, there's another Crisis on the horizon, don't forget.)

Anyway, I promise a whole slew of posts this week over at my blog. I'm finishing up all of my drafts! And as the Lex Luthor of the Legion of Losers (whoa, alliteration), I demand you to comment!!! And, yes, that means even on the Fanboy Foresight features which you've been neglecting!!!!!!

Haha, you know I'm just kidding.

    But seriously, comment or...DIE.

    Relax, I'm still joking.

    ...Or am I?

  5. Jason- Thanks! Hey, I'm checking out your site, so you have at least one loyal reader! And trust me, I'm truly shocked and appreciative to eveybody who actually takes the time to read my often times jumbled thoughts!

Robert- Once again, thanks! I'll be looking forward to your eventual 1 year anniversary, I'm confident you'll get there, crisis or not!

Robert, Robert, Robert... You know I try to avoid any and all spoilers! I'm always checking your site for new content(can't wait for this promised new content!), but I tend to avoid reading those early solicit(especially DC ones). I hate to ruin any potential surprises down the road.

  6. Well I appreciate it, glad to see someone cares about my novice opinions, lol. I may start posting some new reviews since I know atleast one person is reading.

And Nah, nothing jumbled, you write really good reviews in my opinion and hit the nail on the head, so I'll keep reading as long as you're doing it.

  7. Thanks for the kind words Jason, I've always had a pretty poor opinion of my work. Low self-esteem or something. I'd definitely check out any new reviews you post, I thought the stuff from you I read was quite good.

  8. I know what you mean, I'm the same way. I figure it's better to be humble than cocky though. And thanks I appreciate it, I may start this week, you've inspired me...You're like Batman while I'm a young Jinxy Tim Drake. Lol

  9. Great, I'll definitely be looking forward to reading whatever reviews I can.

  10. Awesome, Good thing a few good comics drop this week

  11. The only thing is that it may take me a week or so before I can comment on the newer stuff, with no real comic stores in my area I have to order my books through online shops, which causes me to wait... That wait can be exceptionally agonizing when a comic I'm really looking forward to comes out!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I know what you mean, I was ordering BFTC online before I found a small comic shop maybe fifteen minutes from here, so i lucked out. Luckily you have a TON of backed up comics to read.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yeah, I still have a couple of hundred comics(!)to read, but I hate that long wait for my new books to arrive!

    ReplyDelete
  14. What's the average wait time until they get to ya?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Usually when I order I get my new books within 3-5 days, but I always wait until I can get free shipping(it takes an order of $75 or more to qualify for free shipping), and it usually takes me 2-3 weeks before I have enough comics in my cart to qualify for the free shipping. So sometimes it takes me upwards of 3+ weeks to get my hands on certain comics.

  16. Ouch, I can feel your pain dude, I'll make sure not to drop any spoilers around ya.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yeah, I'm super paranoid when it comes to avoiding spoilers! I won't even read any advanced solicits from DC or Marvel, because I don't want to know what's going to happen in a comic until I read it.

Back during Final Crisis, I didn't watch any news channels or go online after FC #6 was released until I got my hands on that issue. I knew something big was going to happen in that issue and I didn't want ANYTHING to spoil it for me!

  18. Wow, thats true dedication. you are better than me sir, better than me. So were you more happy when Superboy came back or when Bart came back?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Bart. Definitely Bart, hands down. The best thing was the fact that it was a total surprise to me which made it even sweeter. I could deal with SB's death because of how it went down, but Bart's death stung because of how sudden and unfair it was.

  20. I read the scans on the Pic site about how Wally reacted and froze Inertia in time, that was so awesome and powerful I felt like reading up on Inertia. I know I ask you all the time, but any recommendations?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ooo, some Inertia recommendations... He made his debut in an issue of Impulse a few years back and tormented Bart every so often in that series. I'd have to pull out my Impulse books to tell you exactly which ones though. He was a part of the very good "Titans East" storyline in Teen Titans #43-46. From there he enacted his evil plans to kill Bart in the "Flash: The Fastest Man Alive" series which ran 13 issues(and was collected in two trades)and of course there is "Final Crisis: Rogues' Revenge".

If you really want to read up on Inertia, I'd skip the early Impulse stuff and try to grab the Titans East story, the Fastest Man Alive trades and the Rogues' Revenge. I definitely enjoyed all of 'em.

  22. Will do, Im gonna hit the Comic shop tomorrow *just lucked into some money* and see if they have those and a few other comics in stock. I'll let ya know what I think.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ah how I miss being able to walk into a comic shop... I can remember spending hours of my childhood wandering around my local CB shop... Now I've got to do everything online, which just isn't the same.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I can imagine, coupled with the waiting and whatnot. Must suck, but hey, with everything you've got you could open your own comic shop. Lol, Im just shocked there's not any around you, that's unheard of.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yeah, some members of my family have told me that my place looks like a comic book store!

There are some places that sell a few comics in my area, but the selection sucks, and there are no back issues! Since moving up here, I haven't been able to find what I'd term a real CB store.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I can imagine you probably have the biggest comic collection in your city if not state. And that sucks about there being no "real comic book stores." Seems like there should be a mandatory amount, close some liquor stores, open some comic book stores. lol

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ha, yeah, screw those winos, I want a CB shop!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Exactly, It sucks man, I've been trying to get a job in a comic book shop for months but their never hiring. Seems like an awesome job.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Getting a job in a CB store is either a dream or a nightmare... If I ever had the chance to work there, you know exactly where my entire paycheck would be going. I'd just tell them to pay me in comics!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Lol same here, then again, I'd read everything I wanted to there. Seems like an awesome job though, and I'm sure the customers are cool, you can just talk comics with people, thats always fun.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ha, yeah, but for me, it's more than just reading a comic, I have to HAVE it. I'm really what you'd call an obsessive collector.

Lol, I'd get no work done, 'cause I'd be talking/arguing comic books all day long!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I know what you mean, I'm more laxed on mine though lol.

And hell that IS your job, lol, Getting paid to talk comics with the customers, read comics and stock comics, thats like a friggin dream come true for me.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Even better then working in a CB store would be owning one! Now that is def my dream.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I didn't even think of that. That'd be awesome, especially in a city with alot of comic patrons so it's always flourishing with business. If ya ever get one I expect a job offer lol.
