A Few Thoughts with JT

Hey blog readers, JT here with a quick post on a few things I wanted to mention and inform you guys on.

Numero Uno, as you guys know, our good buddy X has burned himself out due to doing a ton of reviews, a ton of comments and working a crazy ass Vampire schedule. Due to that, I told him I'd help out here more so the blog doesn't get stagnant, he doesn't overwork himself, and you guys have something new to read/discuss. I'll be back later on tonight (Friday) with a review for the Batman Annual and tomorrow with a review of the Amazing Spider-Man Annual. That leaves us with pretty much nothing from me on Sunday-Wednesday since I only grabbed three books this week, so if X doesn't wanna review America's Got Powers, I'll do that as well, just wanted to let you guys know what to expect.

Secondly, I know a few people were worried that Rick Remender is leaving Venom soon and Cullen Bunn will be taking over, it appears the book is in good hands according to a recent tweet by Remender himself. "Remender: Just finished reading @cullenbunn 's first solo issue of Venom. It's smart, insane and everything I love in comics. Book is in great hands."

Now that all that stuff is out of the way, I can post the thing I REALLY wanted to tell you about, the upcoming fighting game featuring DC Comics Heroes and Villains!!!!! That's right, there's a game coming out next year starring all DC Comics characters including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy and more, and you can see the first trailer below and read more here. Feel free to let X and myself, HUGE Gamers, know what you think! And with that, I'll catch you guys later today with a new review, JT signing off!

Taking a breather...

After some thought, I've decided not to review the rest of the comics I picked up last week, mainly due to a) being tired as hell from work, and b) the comics not being particularly good... So, for the record, the comics I won't be reviewing are Journey Into Mystery #638(which I'd give a 5 to), Voodoo #9(which was probably a 5 or so), Mighty Thor #14(which was around a 3), Secret Avengers #27(which I'd go with a 0 for), Teen Titans #9(which was about a 5 1/2) and Batman Inc #1(which I'd give about a 6 to)... So yeah, not exactly anything to write home about there... With the scores for those books being as lackluster as they were, I just couldn't get myself to spend the time punching out reviews for them. On top of all that, the blog has been feeling more like work and less like fun as of late, which is always a sign that it's time to take a step back and reconsider things... Anyway, I'll be back (after a very short break) on Wednesday with a fresh New Comic Day post, but until then? Vampire X out.

A Post!

So I managed to type up 8 “reviews”(and I'll explain the quotation marks in a few...) at work earlier today/last night. But here's the thing, I was pretty bare-bones with the actual reviewing due to, you know, limited time and only having an hour and not having the comics on hand and such. I also won't be able to post any scans for said comics, due to the fact that I didn't have my scanner with me at work. I MIGHT try to scan every comic I read and then just do a post(or two) of scans towards the end of the week(on one of my two days off), but we'll see how it goes. Consider the reviews I post later on today(say in about 12 hours) the beta test for what the blog will look like going forward. Naturally, comments and recommendations are appreciated on the upcoming reviews, as I'll use them to try to continue testing things out until I'm happy with what I post. That's it for me, the sun is out, therefore I have to go to sleep. Until later, Vampire X out.

Ch-ch-changes.

So I'm actually typing this up at 2:21AM and am on my lunch break at work. As I mentioned before, I was offered a full-time spot at the job I'm working at, at a higher pay rate! However, it's not all flowers and sunshine, since I'll be working overnight, and sleeping most of the day. In other words, I've become a vampire! Just without the flawless looks. And constant craving for blood. Now, this backwards way I'll be living until the next promotion/job change is going to obviously have some major ramifications for the blog... For one thing, my posts are going to become very sporadic. I'll be able to read the comics I get during my lunch breaks, and possibly even type up a quick review, but I won't be able to add scans or post anything until I get home from work. Sadly, I can see the blog suffering a lot from my added job responsibilities... Hopefully not to the point where I'll have to call it quits, but you never know... Worry not though, I've been doing this blog for a good 4 years now, I'm sure I'll figure something out. I just figured I'd let you guys know what was up and to expect lots of changes to my blogging schedule over the next few days/weeks... Well, that's it, the sun has risen so I'll be heading to sleep now, until later, Vampire X out.

A word to the wise...

Okay, a quick word before we get back to the comic reviews... I recently got a new job, and as such, have a bit less time to sit around reading and reviewing comics. On the plus side, a job equals MORE comics, but on the negative side, a job also equals less free time... But job or no job, I STILL intend on reviewing every comic I pick up during the week, I just may have to be a bit brisker with the reviews. So, expect a bit less in the next several reviews, especially since I'm a bit behind as it is with my reviewing this past week. As always, if you want to know more about a comic I'm reviewing, leave a comment and I'll do my best to fill in any blanks left by my shoddy reviewing! With that out of the way, let's get back to the comics!

What are Brightest Day Rules?

Okay X-Maniacs, it's story time! Once upon a time, DC published a series called Brightest Day. That series was so incredibly awful that I was basically scoring each issue around a 0. Yep, it was THAT bad! Being a glutton for punishment, I soldiered on and kept reading each horrible issue. Needing a way to amuse myself(and hold on to my sanity...), I started scoring the series using what became known as Brightest Day Rules... What are Brightest Day Rules you ask? Whenever something I hate happens in a comic book, I give that scene negative numbers... For example, the White Lantern ring telling Deadman to eat a cheeseburger would most definitely garner that scene a score of around a -10 because it was so asinine. Good things(and there were SO few...) would get a positive score... So a scene where Saint Barry Allen had been decapitated(although that sadly only took place in the Martian Manhunter's head...) would get a score of around a +50 or so. At the end of the post I add up all of the various numbers and presto, we have ourselves a score... Usually in the negative numbers. I believe one issue of Brightest Day actually scored around a -450, so yeah, the scores could get QUITE negative! So why am I telling you guys about Brightest Day Rules? Because they're about to make a comeback. There are a few comics that I read monthly that are just unbearable to me, but for whatever reason I'm still picking them up. Since I KNOW I'm going to hate them, why not use an arbitrary(and totally biased) scoring system to rate these comics?! I mean hell, if I'm gonna read 'em, I might as well rant about 'em. So there you have it. Now if you see a post with the words “Brightest Day Rules” somewhere within it, you'll know what to expect...

Let's Welcome...

Hey there X-Maniacs, I have an extra special announcement to make tonight. One that will change this blog FOREVER!!! Yep, “FOREVER” in all caps, which proves just how big this announcement is! What is the announcement? I'll be adding a collaborator to this blog! And not just ANY collaborator, but probably the second(yes second...) greatest blogger in the history of the Internet! Who is this near legendary figure you ask? Ol' X is delighted to welcome the one and only Jason Todd of Jason Todd's Comic Spot to the blog. Yes, I have managed to convince(trick) my great friend JT to come and post stuff here at the blog, forsaking his own blog in the process... Yep, I am THAT convincing(and/or devious!)!

So, who is JT exactly? JT has gone from being a regular commenter here at the blog since September of 2009, to being a legitimate and valued friend who I speak to on a regular basis. JT is a fellow comic book aficionado, one who is especially knowledgeable on all things Jason Todd... As you probably guessed... Not only that, but he also reads a plethora of books from DC, Marvel, Zenescope, Image and probably other stuff that I didn't care to ask him about. As for what JT will be doing? Pretty much anything he wants. I'll still be doing a post(or three...) everyday, as usual, but now JT will chip in with some reviews, or links, or news stories, or whatever else strikes his fancy. So for example, for much ballyhooed comic books(like the upcoming Winter Soldier #1 let's say), you'll get TWO reviews for the book, meaning anything I miss, JT should pick up on, as well as giving you guys two different takes on things. Plus, he'll be able to throw reviews out there for books that I don't read, adding some extra content around here. Now, being completely serious for a moment, a huge thank you to JT for taking me up on my offer and deciding to add his immense talents to the blog... Oh, and JT? You'd better not suck! :P And that's all for now. I'll have two reviews up tomorrow, and I'm sure JT will post something soon, be it a review or just a random post... Probably... I don't know. As for me, until later, X out.

MIA.

Old X is going to be kind of MIA for the next few days... In other words, I probably won't be able to respond to comments in my regular expedient fashion... On top of that, I'm going to forgo my regular reviews for some super-brisk reviews. You'll know I'm busting out one of my quickie reviews by the titles of the posts. So, I will continue to get “reviews”(and I use that in the loosest definition possible) up, but other than that, at least until Sunday, my appearances around here may be sparse. But hey, as I always say, half-assed reviews are better than no reviews at all! X out.

X's Official Pull List Post! Take Two!

Since I have some extra time on my hands and felt like doing a second post tonight, I figured I'd fill you guys in on what good ol' X's pull list looks like. You see, back in September when the DC reboot occurred I did a post where I listed every single ongoing series I was picking up at the time. It was a way to let people know what to expect to see here on the blog. However, in the four months since I posted that list, my pull list has REALLY changed up... So for kicks let's go ALLLLL the way back to September of 2011(I know, that was ages ago!!) and see what's still on my list, what's not, and why. As always, feel free to let me know what you guys are getting/enjoying/what you think I should add to my own pull list. First things first, let's see what stayed the same...

Marvel:
Amazing Spider-Man
Avengers
Avengers Academy
Daken: Dark Wolverine(although this one's getting canceled soon)
Deadpool
Invincible Iron Man
Journey Into Mystery
Mighty Thor
New Mutants
Secret Avengers
Thunderbolts
Uncanny X-Force
Venom
X-Factor
Wolverine
Ultimate X-Men
Daredevil
Captain America
Captain America and Bucky

DC:
Batman
Batman and Robin
Nightwing
Red Hood and the Outlaws
Green Lantern: New Guardians
Voodoo
I, Vampire
Justice League Dark
Teen Titans
Grifter
Stormwatch
Superboy
Supergirl
Hellblazer(Vertigo)

Image:
Invincible
Morning Glories

Boom!:
Irredeemable

Next, let's see which comic books I dropped in the past few months, and why...

Marvel:
Iron Man 2.0- Canceled.
Uncanny X-Men- I just couldn't bear reading about Lord Summers and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants anymore!
X-23- This series just didn't do it for me, and I guess I wasn't alone as it's since been canceled.
X-Men- I like Victor Gischler and all, but $4 was just too much for this series.
Heroes for Hire- Canceled.
Ultimates- Just too confusing for me... Plus the $4 price tag didn't help.
Ultimate Spider-Man- I wasn't paying $4 to read ANOTHER Bendis series!
Generation Hope- After one issue I remembered how much I hated Our Lord and Savior Hope and as such re-dropped this series...
Incredible Hulk- This was another one that was dropped due to it's $4 price.

DC:
Detective Comics- Tony Daniel can't write a coherent comic book, in MY opinion, to save his life. That's why I dropped a series I never expected to drop.
Batman: The Dark Knight- Yeah, once I saw One-Face I knew this one was headed towards the scrapheap!
Catwoman- I was never able to get into this series.
Static Shock- This comic did a horrible job introducing Static Shock to a new comic book audience... It's no surprise it's being canceled.
Legion of Superheroes- This series wasn't even rebooted! That's why I dropped it! It just continued on like Flashpoint never happened!!
Legion Lost- I actually enjoyed this series, but it didn't seem like the type of series that was going to have a long shelf-life
Deathstroke- Two words: Rob Liefeld.
Suicide Squad- I was never able to form a connection to any of the characters in this one. Solid story, boring characters.
Superman- The first issue was just terrible... Plus I don't like Bad-Ass Superman.
Action Comics- See above, but add “and confusing” after the word terrible.
Wonder Woman- I hardly knew who most of the characters were....
Fables(Vertigo)- I was only picking this up for my sister. She said to drop it, it got dropped.

So there are the books I dropped and why, now let's take a gander at the comic books I've added...

Marvel:
Wolverine and the X-Men
Defenders
Winter Soldier
X-Men Legacy
Avengers Assemble

DC:
American Vampire(Vertigo)
... And that's it... Ouch...

Image:
Saga
Thief of Thieves
Hell Yeah
Whispers
Fatale

And now for the fun part, adding everything up! Back in September I was picking up 55 ongoing series. Now? That number is down to 47. Back in September I was picking up 26 Marvel books, 26 DC books, 2 Image books and one Boom! book. Now? I'm picking up 24 Marvel books, 15 DC books(OUCH!), 7 Image books and one Boom! book. So obviously the big winner in the battle for my money is Image, while DC is the HUGE loser. Damn, I can't believe I dropped 11 DC comic books! I am legitimately surprised by that. But then again, the reboot made it REALLY easy for somebody like me, who has been collecting DC books for about 4 years or so, to drop that many titles. Sure, it may have been a good jumping on point for new fans, but it was a great jumping off point for older fans! As for Marvel, I stayed basically the same, although I'd probably have more Marvel books on my pull list if they weren't double shipping and pricing so many of their titles at $4.

Now, let's look into the crystal ball and predict what my pull list will look like 6 months from now... I'm not expecting any more changes to my DC list. The titles I'm currently reading are probably safe, and I don't expect to add any DC books going forward. Marvel is funny, because I'll probably start picking up more of their books during the summer due to the Avengers vs X-Men event. The question is whether or not I'll KEEP picking up those extra books AFTER the AvX event is through... With Marvel's annoying sales tactics(the double shipping in particular), I don't see myself adding all that many more Marvel books. If anything, I wouldn't be shocked to see the Marvel number fall just a tad due to cancellations or high prices. And that brings us to Image and the other third party publishers... I can seriously see myself picking up even more books from that group. For the most part the price is right(almost all of the third party publishers price their books at a reasonable $3), which should lead to me trying out more titles. I'd much rather try out a $3 comic and hate it than try out a $4 comic and hate it... Which is something Marvel doesn't seem to get... Well, this was a fun little waste of time! As I stated before, feel free to drop me a comment or e-mail(at xman75@gmail.com) telling me which books you pick up and why. That'll do it for tonight, until tomorrow, and New Comic Day, X out!

The obligatory Merry Christmas post!

Hey there X-Maniacs, X here to take a moment to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! So far today I've been spending time with family and was given an AWESOME haul of comics from my sister(a slew of old issues of Captain America and Dr. Strange from the 70's!), so here's hoping everybody else is having a great day. I won't be able to review anything tonight, BUT, I DID manage to type up a few extra reviews last night, which I've scheduled to post tonight! So that's what'll be coming down the proverbial chimney for all of you good boys and girls later on tonight. As for now, here's a Christmas-y comic scan, and I'm off! X out.If Marvel ever created a shirt like that? I'd buy SEVEN and wear them every day of the week!!!

Just A Quick Note...

Okay, quick comment before I get to this next review... Seeing as that I have 20 comics to review and post about before Wednesday, as well as a game that I'm VERY happy with(Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3), I'm going to use the DC style of review(with the good/bad/verdict format) to breeze through these comics just a bit quicker. If you want more info on a comic, don't be afraid to ask, as I'll happily fill you in on anything I may have skimped on during the post. Okay, on with the show!

Damn Blogger!

If there's a bit of delay in my posting tonight, blame Blogger... For whatever reason, whenever I try to post an image with my blog post, I'm getting the "This image could not be uploaded due to an internal error" message... So either Blogger or Picasa are screwing up somewhere along the line. I've spent the last hour searching the web(in vain) and have seemingly come up with a way to work around the problem(an annoying process that involves working through Picasa to get a link for the blog post, copying said link and then pasting it to the blog before publishing), but I'm not 100% sure it's going to take care of the problem permanently, so if any of my posts don't have a scan attached to them, that's the reason why. Now let's see if I can get another post up...

It also seems that the images are coming up way larger than they should... I'll have to try to fix THAT as well... Damn Blogger...

500 for 2011!

Hey, this is my 500th post for the year! Huzzah! At the rate I'm going, 600 for the year is definitely possible, and I'd say that I have a SLIGHT shot at hitting the magic 700 number. I can't imagine I'll be able to match my all-time high post number, which I set in 2009(755), but this year will definitely mark my second highest blog posting total. All in all, things have never been better here at the blog as the month of October has been my best when it comes to visitors, so thanks to all of you guys who stop by to read my madness, because let's face it, if nobody was coming here I'd have closed up shop long ago. And just so this post isn't a complete waste of your time, here are a few comic scans!

YEAH!!! You show that newspaper who's boss, Zemo!!!

What bargain is Bats talking about... The way he's standing over Jason gives me a REALLY bad feeling...

“Damn you!! Damn you all to hell!!!!!”

The return of the Retro-Reviews!

Yep, you read this post's title correctly, since I've already finished up my new comic books this week, I get to do something that I hardly ever get the opportunity to do here at the blog, post some back issue reviews! See, besides my new comics, I usually read a good 20 or so back issues every week. On top of that, I have a comic collection that HAS to be well over 20,000 singles and trades by this point. In other words, I have A LOT of back issues laying around my place! Unfortunately, I can't review those back issues here on the blog due to time constraints... There are only so many hours in the day, and I can't spend all of them blogging... Yet. However, I CAN pull out some back issues and give them reviews since my new comics are out of the way! So until Wednesday I'll be pumping out Retro-Reviews in the place of my regular reviews, four a night, starting tonight. Same sucky reviews, but with older comics! Kick back and enjoy the trip through comic book history. Who knows, if these go over well, maybe I'll make them a staple here at the blog. Until later, X out.

Another word to the wise!

Hey X-Maniacs, I just wanted to thank you guys for the well wishes and stuff, things seem to be getting back to normal for me family-wise, I'm still in full-out job hunting mode, but that shouldn't interfere with my blogging much. Nor should the crazy flooding my area was hit with last week. So as of right now, ol' X should be pumping out at least two reviews a day, as usual. As I said, thanks for the well wishes and stuff, you guys definitely make doing this blog worthwhile. Until next time, X out.

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

A word to the wise...

Hey there X-Maniacs. X here with some kind of crappy news. Besides trying to parlay this college diploma I have into a job(really!), some substantial family troubles have sprouted up that may have me being a bit less active around here... I'll still try to post something at LEAST once every couple of days, but if I miss a few reviews or my posts seem more brisk than usual, you'll know why. If by chance I can't post anything for an extended amount of time I may have to resort to some guest reviews. I've already checked with a certain fellow blogger who said he'd be willing to pitch in in a pinch, so at least there's that to look forward to. But who knows, maybe things will calm down in my life a bit and by this weekend everything will be back to normal... Damned life getting in the way of my blogging! Anyway, just so this post wasn't a total waste for you guys, here's a random post. I should have an abbreviated New Comic Day post up tomorrow(because come hell or high water I WILL be getting my comics!), and hopefully some sort of reviews. That's gonna do it for me for now, until next time, X out.Superman must be a horrible gossip! “By the way, do you guys remember my clone, Superboy? Well listen to this...”

#2,000!!

Hot DAMN, this is the 2,000th post I've published here on this blog!! 2,000!! That's a HUGE number! And I've been responsible for every single post you see here. All two thousand of them. I'm not one to pat myself on the back or anything(liar!), but I'm pretty proud of this accomplishment. Hell, back in the day, I didn't even think this blog would reach 100 posts, let alone twenty times that amount. I really don't have anything special planned for this occasion since it kind of snuck up on me... I didn't even realize I was this close to 2,000 until about 8 posts ago... But, I was able to pull a few strings, and after making some phone calls, I managed to get one of my famous comic book characters and international movie star, Captain America himself(!) to step in to say a few words about this momentous occasion! Take it away Cap!Huh... Well, thanks for the kind words, Cap... I guess... Wow, this is kind of awkward now... Anyway, thanks for reading, commenting, or even accidentally clicking onto this blog. It's because of all of you people I do this... Well, except for those of you who are here accidentally and don't plan on coming back... In the case of those people, thanks for nothing! That'll do it for me, until next time, X out!

X's Official Pull List post!

Hey all, X here with one of those, “I don't really have anything to post...” posts! With no new comics left in my pile, I've been happily sifting through my plethora of unread back issues, which is funny in a way since so many of my unread DC back issues hold zero interest for me now... I mean I had like the first 25 issues of Supergirl, the full JSA Classified run, most of the JLA Classified run, the GLC mini-series that tied into the main series, as well as some other books that I actually put away even though I never read them, all thanks to the great DC Reboot of '11. It's hard to work up interest in the stories from the 1990's and 2000's since DC has basically said the stuff from those time periods(unless written by Grant Morrison of Johns the Destroyer) don't matter. So yeah, I put those comics in boxes and put them away in the closet unread. It's sad in a way...

Anyway, with the DC reboot upon us, I figured I'd list all of the comic books I collect on a monthly basis, Marvel, DC or other, so you guys can get some idea of what you can expect to see here on the blog during the coming weeks and months.

Let's start with Marvel:
Amazing Spider-Man
Avengers
Avengers Academy
Daken: Dark Wolverine
Deadpool
Invincible Iron Man
Iron Man 2.0
Journey Into Mystery
Mighty Thor
New Mutants
Secret Avengers
Thunderbolts
Uncanny X-Force
Uncanny X-Men
Venom
X-23
X-Factor
X-Men
Heroes for Hire
Wolverine
Ultimate X-Men
Ultimates
Ultimate Spider-Man
Daredevil
Captain America
Captain America and Bucky

These are the rebooted DC books I'll be getting:
Detective Comics
Batman
Batman and Robin
Batman: The Dark Knight
Catwoman
Nightwing
Red Hood and the Outlaws
Green Lantern: New Guardians
Voodoo
I, Vampire
Justice League Dark
Static Shock
Teen Titans
Legion of Superheroes
Legion Lost
Grifter
Deathstroke
Stormwatch
Suicide Squad
Superboy
Supergirl
Superman
Action Comics
Wonder Woman
Hellblazer(Vertigo)
Fables(Vertigo)

Closing things out are two Image comics:
Invincible
Morning Glories

And one Boom! Title
Irredeemable

So that's 55 regular monthly series, not counting the various mini-series and assorted spur of the moment pick-ups. So yes, that's a lot of comics, and that's not counting books like Wolverine and the X-Men or Generation Hope that I'll be picking up/restarting down the road. On the plus side, I will be dropping some books soon(like Uncanny X-Men), and most of those DC books will be on a VERY short leash. The rebooted DC titles are interesting in that I WON'T be picking up ANYTHING that isn't on that initial list(there's no chance in Hell I'll start collecting Flash, JL, JLI, Aquaman, GL, etc) no matter what I hear about the other books, but I WILL be willing to drop comics after two issues... Honestly, out of the DC books, the only titles I never see myself dropping are the Batman family of books(all the main Bat-titles plus Catwoman, Nightwing, Red Hood), Action Comics, Superman, Superboy, Stormwatch, Grifter, Teen Titans and Justice League Dark. All of those other titles could be lopped off the pull list come October/November depending on story quality. So come November, there's a chance I'll have halved my DC pull list if things go REALLY bad, which is a distinct possibility with THAT company...

So there you have it, a post about pretty much nothing that only took me a couple of minutes to type up. Feel free to drop me any comments on which comics you pick up monthly or go ahead and recommend some comics to me. Trust me, it doesn't take a lot of convincing to get me to start collecting comic books! Or hell, drop me a random comic comment or e-mail me at xman75@gmail.com and leave me a comment or post topic idea for tomorrow... As it stands right now I MAY post a review of some sort or I MAY just post some random comic scans come tomorrow, but I can be swayed to do something else. Well, that's it for me tonight, enjoy the rest of your night/day/whatever. Until next time, X out!

The return NOBODY asked for!

It's been quite some time since I've posted anything at my old picture blog, Uncanny Comic Book Scans. I basically grew tired of having to pick a picture(“pick a picture”?!) out of my gargantuan collection of comics, scan it and then post there every night. It may not seem like much, but coming up with a weekly theme, finding comics that connected to that theme, scanning said comics, and then posting those pictures every single night became quite monotonous... Eventually, I just didn't feel like running two separate blogs at once and I dropped UCBS back in June to concentrate all of my attention on this blog...

And then something happened around the end of last year... I began to realize that while there are some of you out there who like to sit through my boring/inane reviews, there are also many people out there who like to look at pretty, pretty pictures! Not only that, but my audience seems to like to look at pictures of comic characters making out. These realizations got me thinking... “X,” says I, “Maybe you should start up the picture blog again... It can't hurt, and it would actually enhance your main blog. Plus, if you can corner the super-heroes making-out market you're one step closer to your real goal, total and complete world domination!!!” And with that rather bizarre internal monologue in mind, I decided to reboot Uncanny Comic Scans.

There will be a few changes to the old picture blog though... First off, I won't be posting there every single day. Then again, knowing me, I'll probably post SOMETHING there close to once a day, especially in the beginning, while the blog still has that new car smell to it. However, this is my main blog, and this blog will always take priority to everything else I do blog-wise. Secondly, UCBS will mainly be a place to get your fill of comic book characters making out. Maybe I'll toss in the occasional semi-nudity as well. Based on the stats from this blog, I know what you guys want to see, and being the humble(and somewhat delusional)blogmaster that I am, I shall endeavor to give the people what they want. Lastly, this is all subject to change! I might just get tired of the new format and ditch it as well. You can never be sure what I'll do! I just wanted to let my few regulars here know what was in the cards. That's pretty much it for now, remember to check UCBS (semi-)regularly, and until next time, X out!

Let's Talk About: Those Blasted Bullet Reviews!

Howdy all, it's X again, this time with some 'splainin to do. You see, I'm going to be busy this next week finishing out the current semester at school. Really busy. What exactly does this mean for you, the non-paying customers of X's wacky blogerific blog? Basically it means that I just don't have the time to post my normal, semi-acceptable reviews. But fear not true believers, I STILL plan on posting some comic related thoughts, incoherent ramblings and yes, reviews as well! See, I know that if I simply abandon the blog for a week, I'll have a HARD time getting back into the swing of things... It happened before, last year at around this time as a matter of fact, so in an effort to stay connected to the blog, I'm going to go and bust out some craptacular bullet point reviews. Ah yes, the bullet point reviews, last bastion of the lazy blogmaster... I'll hit on the main things that happened in each comic, give my thoughts, the score and a scan, and then move on to the next one. Um, so yeah, that's the long and the short of it. As always, toss me a comment if you want, because no matter HOW much work I have, I always take a few minutes to respond to those. That'll do it for now, until next time, X out.
