Hey comic fans, X here with the latest New Comic Day post. It's the fifth Wednesday of the month, so I'm not really expecting to pick up a lot of comics... Or am I??? Um, I actually don't know yet... The easiest way to rectify that is to check out which comics I should be picking up when I head to the comic shop in a few! Deathmatch #6, Red Hood and the Outlaws Annual #1, Morning Glories #27, Avenging Spider-Man #21, Captain America #7, Dark Avengers #190, Indestructible Hulk #8, Morbius #5, Venom #35... So 9 comics this week, which is roughly what I'd expect in a long month like May was. I'll definitely be reviewing Cap #7 on Thursday. For Saturday though, I have no clue what I'll be reviewing... Probably Hulk #8, but that could change depending on what I read and when. So yeah, that's all I've got for now. Now we'll check in on JT and see what he'll be picking up today. Until later, X out.
Hey guys and gals, JT here after a brief sabbatical to let my hand heal. It's not 100% by any means but I'm hoping by Friday it's feeling fine enough for me to type up some reviews. This week I plan on picking up Deathmatch #6, Injustice: Gods Among Us #5, Earth 2 Annual #1, Red Hood and the Outlaws Annual #1, Smallville Season 11 Special (not annual?) #1, Wake #1, Avenging Spider-Man #21, Captain America #7, Indestructible Hulk #8, Morbius the Living Vampire #5, and Uncanny X-Force #5. Of those books I plan on doing single reviews for the Red Hood Annual and either Injustice or Avenging Spider-Man. I guess we'll see, shall we? But until then, this is JT, signing off!

New Comic Day! May 15th edition
Wow, it's already time for a New Comic Day post! That's... surprising, actually... I mean, I STILL haven't finished off last week's books! Mainly because I have next to zero interest in reading about Batman and Clayface, but still... Huh. Let's see what this week has in store, and hope we have some good books coming out... Nightwing #20, Red Hood and the Outlaws #20, Fatale #14, Age of Ultron #8, Avengers: Enemy Within #1, FF #7, Iron Man #10, Nova #4, Thunderbolts #9, X-Factor #256. Cool, only 10 books this week! I needed that, especially after last week's suck-fest. I'm required to do two reviews around here, on Thursday and Saturday, so expect a review for Age of Ultron #8 on Thursday, mainly because JT is a jerk! Seriously, I tried to push this title on him, but he was all, "Hell no am I reviewing that garbage, X!" and here we are. So yeah, expect a rather dour review of that comic on Thursday. As for Saturday... I honestly have no clue what I'll be reviewing... I'm thinking either Nightwing, Nova or Iron Man. Whichever strikes my fancy, either good or bad. Most of the rest will be in Monday's Best of the Rest post. As for Tuesday, I'll be busting out a Throwback review that's absolutely mad!!! And yes, that's actually a hint! That'll do it for me, now I hand things over to the Dean of Mean, the Master of Disaster, the Reel Joker himself, JT. As for me? X out.
Hey, hey, hey comic lovers! JT here with my half of this week's New Comic Day post. After beating that jabroni X last week and having more comics than him for the first and probably only time ever, I felt I should say something, as a wise man named Nelson Muntz once said, "Ha Ha!" Now that I've done that, let's get to the comics! This week I plan on picking up Regular Show #1, Red Hood and the Outlaws #20, Age of Ultron #8, Iron Man #10, Nova #4, and Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #23. Hm... small week. Of those six comics, you can expect single reviews for Red Hood and Ultimate Spidey. If I chime in the BOTR post it will be to review Nova and possibly Regular Show. Til then, this is JT, signing off!

New Comic Day! April 24th edition.
Hey comic readers, JT here with this week's New Comic Day post! As always, X and I will list which books we plan on picking up and which days we plan on reviewing them, if they get that honor! So, let's get to it. Today I plan on picking up Deathmatch #5, Injustice: Gods Among Us #4, East of West #2, Invincible #102, Guardians of the Galaxy #2, Morbius the Living Vampire #4, New Avengers #5, Scarlet Spider #16, Uncanny Avengers #7, Uncanny X-Men #5, Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #22, and Young Avengers #4. So with a total of 12 books, you can expect me to review Uncanny X-Men, and Ultimate Spider-Man. Also, I'll post reviews for Injustice, Scarlet
Spider-Man and maybe a few other books in the Best of the Rest post.on Monday. So, that's it for me, now I'll hand things over to my Tag partner X, til next time, this is JT, signing off!
Adios, JT, and hello X-Maniacs. X here with his half of the NCD post. Here are the comics I'll be snagging in a few... Deathmatch #5, I, Vampire #19, Teen Titans #19, Clone #6, Invincible #102, Morning Glories #26, Whispers #5, A+X #7, FF #6, Guardians of the Galaxy #2, Morbius #4, Scarlet Spider #16, Uncanny Avengers #7, Uncanny X-Men #5, Young Avengers #4. Ouch, so 15 books for me. That's a bit more than I'd like to see... On the plus side though, there are a couple of really good books there, so that's good. Thursday and Saturday are my review days, and you can expect to see reviews for Uncanny Avengers #7 on Thursday, and Young Avengers #4 on Saturday. Everything else? It'll probably pop up in Monday's Best of the Rest post. Besides that, JT has the Throwback Tuesday post, so that should be good. And that's it for me. Until next time? X out.

Best of the Rest! April 3rd edition.
Hey X-Maniacs, X here to start another Best of the Rest post. As always, I'll toss a few reviews out there, and then my erstwhile lackey, JT, will add a few reviews. JT's reviews will have blue text. And yeah, enough talk, let's knock these reviews out.
Indestructible Hulk #6: Bruce and his science crew use some uru Thor lent SHIELD(that's weird...) to find some mysterious element in Jotunheim(where the Frost Giants lurk). Thor from the past shows up(wha?!) as do Frost Giants. Bruce hulks up, and all of this leads to Hulk lifting Thor's hammer... Yeah, under no circumstances should Hulk ever lift Thor's hammer. So I'm guessing either a) the hammer rose because it was heading back to Thor, or b) this is a wacky alternate dimension where anybody can lift the hammer. Regardless, this issue seemed kind of average-ish to me. With Mark Waid and Walter Simonson, I was expecting more than this. Score: 6 1/2 out of 10.
Stormwatch #19: What the HELL happened to this comic?! Ugh... This issue was horrible, and nearly impossible to figure out... Some aliens kill Adam One at the beginning of time(?), which alters reality(you'd think DC would shy away from doing THAT...), leading to Stormwatch being called Skywatch. with (some) different members. It was a mess and it ended with a Lobo appearance. So yeah, I hated it and hope that Jim Starlin rights this ship really fast. This used to be my favorite DC comic... Score: 3 out of 10.
Hypernaturals #10: We seem to be inching ever closer to finding out that Sublime was right and that the Quantinuum AI may just be up to no good. Or maybe it's just trying to protect humanity... Regardless, Sublime has had more than enough of working with the Hypernaturals and takes off. As for Evil Sublime, he's attacking Thinkwell's homeworld. So yeah, I finally managed to read this series, from issue #1-10, and I liked it. DnA doing a space tale is always a good thing, and this series is no different. Sublime is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine too. Score: 7 out of 10.
Venom #33: This issue revolves around Toxin(Eddie Brock) battling against the mysterious(still unnamed!) cannibal from last issue. The cannibal escapes from Toxin and ends up running into Venom. This one ends with Venom knocking the cannibal out and coming face-to-face with Toxin. Which is what I've been waiting for!! This issue proved something important to me... If Cullen Bunn stays away from all the demonic and supernatural junk, he CAN write a good Venom series! He proved it with the U-Foes and he proved it again here. Eddie vs a cannibal? Flash vs the cannibal? Flash vs Eddie? Yes, please! Here's hoping Bunn stays away from demons and lets Flash face the types of threats you'd expect a spider-family member to face. Score: 8 out of 10.
Winter Soldier #17: So yeah, some stuff happens and this issue ended... *sigh* Fine, I'll try a bit harder than that... Nick Fury's disembodied head tells Bucky to go after the Electric Ghost, who went all Super-Joker and committed like 57 terrorist acts in one day. Bucky ends up going to the Ghost's satellite(wait, what?!) and is defeated by her. Oh yeah, and Bucky's elderly sidekick, Robards, defeats a mini-MODOK off panel because why not. Yep, I'm done with this series. This comic was as bad as anything I've read all year, and I'm not gonna waste my money anymore. Bucky, you deserve so much better than this... Hopefully this book gets cancelled and a better writer gets a new series down the road. Score: 0 out of 10. The first imperfect score in quite some time...
Ultimate X-Men #25: Jean heads to Utopia because Kitty is an arrogant bitch in Jean's mind and shouldn't be leading the mutant people. Amen, Jean!!! Besides that, Jimmy is plotting with Warpath from Mach 2's crew and Psylocke is plotting against Mach 2. So basically, we have a 4 way power struggle brewing between Kitty, Mach 2, Jean and Psylocke... Um, couldn't there be ONE male character trying to take leadership of Utopia?! I mean, FOUR women are vying for the throne!? Very, very weird... Needless to say, I'm in Jean's corner, because Evil Jean is awesome. Score: 4 1/2 out of 10.
Green Lantern #19: We pick things up with Hal Jordan who now inexplicably looks exactly like Geoff Johns for some stupid ass reason still in Black Hand's ring as he contemplates his next move. Sinestro's returned to Korugar to get help from his people to take on the First Lantern, but he shows up and feeds off of their emotions. When Sinestro manages to save his people, the First Lantern changes it so he didn't, cause he can change time or something. Anyway, The First Lantern destroys Korugar, leaving Sinestro floating through space and his planet's debris when he finds himself in front of his Yellow Lantern. Also, Hal decides to kill himself while in the ring so he can wield the Black Hand's Black Lantern powers, so he flings himself off a cliff. Well, I hated this. I don't know much about the lantern because I refuse to follow GL Corps, New Guardians and Red Lanterns to keep up with this storyline. The way he changed it so Sinestro lost after winning was a giant screw you to the readers, and it looks like Sinestro will be wielding fear again. Plus, Geoff Jordan annoys me... how do you just randomly change Hal to a pudgy faced Geoff Johns? Ugh. Score: 2/10 only because Geoff Jordan killed himself.
Green Arrow #19: After the odd cliffhanger of Ollie falling to his death in the last issue, we see Ollie survives (SHOCKING!!!) and engages Komodo in battle. Surprisingly, Oliver manages to get the drop on Komodo, but Oliver is suddenly shot with an arrow by Komodo's daughter. Komodo's unhappy about her showing up and Ollie uses the distraction of her and the police to get away. The issue ends with Oliver being picked up by his newest tech guy and pulling an arrow out of his leg before blacking out in pain. This issue fell flat for me, the first two issues started out promising but Komodo and his daughter and the mystery of Oliver's longtime dead dad is not keeping me interested. I'll probably give this series one more issue and if things don't turn around I'll end up dropping it. Score: 4/10
And that's it for this week's Best of the Rest post! I had a few books I wanted to include but I haven't gotten around to reading them yet, so ah well. Due to my busy schedule, X is going to post a scan or something tomorrow since the only two books I've read and planned on reviewing were better as blurbs than full reviews. Anyway, til next time, this is JT and his erstwhile lackey X, signing off!
Indestructible Hulk #6: Bruce and his science crew use some uru Thor lent SHIELD(that's weird...) to find some mysterious element in Jotunheim(where the Frost Giants lurk). New Comic Day! April 3rd edition.
Hey all, X here to welcome you to the first New Comic Day of April. I really don't have much else to say for an intro, so how about I see what comics I'll be picking up in a few... Hypernaturals #10, Stormwatch #19, Age of Ultron #4, All New X-Men #10, Indestructible Hulk #6, Superior Spider-Man #7, Thanos Rising #1, Ultimate X-Men #25, Venom #33, Winter Soldier #17. So 10 comics this week. That's a reasonable number for me. I'll be reviewing Age of Ultron on Thursday, and Thanos Rising on Saturday, with everything else reviewed on Monday in the Best of the Rest post. Or at least that's the plan. And with my part in this over and done, I can now introduce my esteemed colleague, Mr. JT. As for me? Until tomorrow, X out.
Thanks for that very, very, crappy intro buddy! JT chiming in with my comics for this week, so let's get right to it! I plan on grabbing the following issues; Batwing #19, Detective Comics #19, Earth 2 #11, Green Arrow #19, Green Lantern #19, Legends of the Dark Knight #7, Smallville Season 11 #12, Bedlam #6, Age of Ultron #4, All New X-Men #10, Indestructible Hulk #6, Superior Spider-Man #7, Thanos Rising #1, and Shadowman #6. Now that's it for me til Friday, so until then, this is JT, signing off!

Hypernaturals #9, Stormwatch #18, A+X #5, Age of Ultron #1, All New X-Men #8, Iron Man #7, Superior Spider-Man #5, Ultimates #22, Venom #32, Winter Soldier #16. Nice, a pretty light week for me! To be honest, there are a few really good books there, and a few really bad books there... I mean hell, 4 of the 10 books I'm getting are books that I'm very close to dropping... On the plus side though, there are also a few books that I love, PLUS the start of Marvel's event for 2013. Yes, it's time to enter the Age of Ultron... And yes, I will try to have a review for AoU #1 up later on today. Besides that, I'll be busting reviews out on Thursday, Saturday and Monday. And that'll wrap things up for me. New Comic Day! February 27th edition
Hey X-Maniacs, sorry you have to deal with that unfortunate nickname, but X threatens me when I don't call you guys that. Anyway, it's your favorite day of the week again, New Comic Day. So, let's see what I'll be bringing home from the shop this week! My comic haul should consist of Deathmatch #3, Aquaman #17, Injustice: Gods Among Us #2 (Hell Yeah!!!), Avenging Spider-Man #17, Guardians of the Galaxy 0.1, Hawkeye #8, Uncanny Avengers #4, Uncanny X-Force #2, Uncanny X-Men #2, and Young Avengers #2. So with a total of ten books to choose from, you can expect me to review Avenging Spidey, Injustice: Gods Among us, and Uncanny X-Men, and those reviews will be up as always on Friday, Sunday and Tuesday. Now I'll hand things over to the second half of this Two-Man Power Trip, X! Til next time, this is JT, signing off!
Yes, hello X-Maniacs, as my erstwhile lackey said, it is indeed New Comic Day! Huzzah and all that jazz. I am X, and these are the comic books I'll be picking up today... Deathmatch #3, I, Vampire #17, Teen Titans #17, Avenging Spider-Man #17, FF #4, Guardians of the Galaxy #0.1, Hawkeye #8, Thunderbolts #5, Uncanny Avengers #4, Uncanny X-Men #2, Young Avengers #2, Ultimate X-Men #23, Punisher War Zone #5, Comeback #4. Well, it was looking like a pretty quiet week until I got to the Marvel books... So yeah, this week it's 14 comics for yours truly. That's a bit more than I would have hoped for, but at least we have a few good looking comics there. My review days are Thursday, Saturday and Monday this week, and I'll be posting reviews for Uncanny Avengers, Young Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy for Thursday. Annnd that'll just about do it for me. Until next time? X out.

X out.

New Comic Day! Feb. 13th edition!
Hey comic fans, JT here so you know what that means!!!! Your day just got much better. Also, it's New Comic Day! Now, before I jump to what I'm picking up and reviewing, I wanna thank all you readers as well as congratulate my buddy X, who after over five years of this blog. finally reached 100 Followers this week, which is a pretty damn impressive milestone if I say so myself. So, congrats to X and thanks to you guys for following what we do here. Now that the sappy stuff is out of the way, let's see what I expect to pick up tomorrow. My haul should consist of Batman #17, Batman and Robin #17, Bedlam #4, Todd the Ugliest Kid on Earth #2, Walking Dead #107, Scarlet Spider #14, Secret Avengers #1 and Uncanny X-Men #1. So with a total of eight books this week, you can expect me to review Batman and Robin #17, Uncanny X-Men #1 and Scarlet Spider #14, and as always my review days are Friday, Sunday and Tuesday. Now, I'll hand things over to my buddy, X, X, X-MAAAAAAN! Til Friday, this is JT, signing off!
Cool, I had no idea we reached 100 followers! That's great! Anyway, it's X, and I'll cut the chit-chat and get right to the meat of this post, the comics! Here are the books I should be picking up... Batman #17, Superboy #17, Team 7 #5, America's Got Powers #5, Clone #4, Fatale #12, Morning Glories #24, Walking Dead #107, Fantastic Four #4, Scarlet Spider #14, Secret Avengers #1, Ultimate X-Men #22, Uncanny X-Men #1. So that's 13 books for me, as I get back into the double digits after two very light(for me anyway) weeks. Now, for this week, something a bit different... Normally my review days are Thursday, Saturday and Monday. However, since Batman #17 drops today, and it's being talked up like it's gonna be huge, I'll have a special Wednesday review for that comic up later on tonight. From there, I'll go back to my regular reviewing schedule. So make sure to check back for that tonight. And that'll do it for me. Until next time, which will be just a few hours, actually, X out.

New Comic Day! February 6th edition.
Hey comic fans! X here to kick off the start of another week. Yes, it's once again time for another New Comic Day post! Huzzah!! It's already February, meaning it's almost time for Marvel's yearly event... This year it's an Ultron/Avengers themed event, meaning I'll be giving all of my money to Marvel soon... Damned smart Marvel, knowing exactly what I want to read... But that's still a month down the road. Today? I'm not actually expecting a large haul of books today. The first week of the month tends to be a bit light for me, but let's check and see what I should be picking up in a few... Stormwatch #17, All New X-Men #7, Iron Man #6, Superior Spider-Man #3, Thunderbolts #4, Venom #31, Winter Soldier #15, X-Factor #251, Hypernaturals #8... So 9 measly books for me... Actually, I'd be pleased if every week was under 10 books! As always, my review days will be Thursday, Saturday and Monday. For Thursday? Expect reviews for Superior Spider-Man #3, Thunderbolts #4 and probably X-Factor #251. And now it's time for me to hand things over to that rat-fink scoundrel himself, JT! As for me? Until next time, X out.
It's me, the rat-fink scoundrel himself, JT! I wanna thank the world's most jive turkey. X, for the introduction. Now, unlike X I'm not gonna rant on and stall, I'm gonna give you the meat and potatoes of the post! This week I plan on picking up Detective Comics #17, Earth 2 #9, Green Arrow #17, Smallville Season 11 #10, Avengers Assemble Annual #1, All New X-Men #7, Superior Spider-Man #3, Thunderbolts #4, and Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #20. That's a surprising nine books, tying me with X, which NEVER happens. Anyway, my review days are Friday, Sunday and Tuesday, and I plan on reviewing All New X-Men #7, Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #20, and Green Arrow #17. And just like that, that's it for me, I'll be back Friday with my first review, til then, this is JT, signing off.

New Comic Day! January 30th edition
Hey comic fans, JT here with this week's New Comic Day post! After a week of getting my ass kicked by the flu, I'm back in action baby! First things first, thanks to X for covering my books last week, while I sat in bed, ate soup and felt miserable. And that was just from reading Red Hood... but enough about last week, let's see what I'm getting this week. My haul this week includes Aquaman #16, Batman and Robin Annual #1, Injustice: Gods Among Us #1, Invincible #100, Hawkeye #7, Superior Spider-Man #2, Teen Titans #16, and Deathmatch #2. So, with a total of eight books this week, I'll be reviewing Superior Spider-Man #2, Injustice: Gods Among Us #1, and the Batman and Robin Annual. You can expect those reviews on Friday, Sunday and Tuesday, respectively. So now I'll pass things over to my buddy X, and til next time, this is JT, signing off!
And now it's X time! Hey all, happy New Comic Day, and all that jazz. It's the fifth Wednesday of the month, so I'm kind of surprised to see JT getting so many books... Usually they reserve the fifth Wednesday for annuals and... well, nothing... Hmm, let's see just how many books I should be picking up... I, Vampire #16, Teen Titans #16, Invincible #100, Avengers #4, Dark Avengers #186, Hawkeye #7, Punisher War Zone #4, Superior Spider-Man #2... Wait, so I'm only getting 8 comics!? But that's as many as JT, and I usually get WAY more than him!! Weird... Well, I may pick up Deathmatch #2, but only if my shop got the first issue in as I had requested. So I may get 9, which makes me feel a little bit better. So 8 books... Man, my wallet is gonna be SO happy! Anyway, I have 7 books I can review there(since JT is taking care of Superior), so I'll post three reviews on Thursday, and two on Saturday and Monday. As for Thursday's reviews? Definitely Invincible and Hawkeye. As for the third comic? It's probably going to be Teen Titans. It's either that or Avengers, and I'm not expecting good things from either of those comics. And that'll do it. Another NCD post in the books. Until tomorrow night? Yep, X out.

New Comic Day! December 26th edition.
We are heading towards the end of the year, which means the 5th annual Untitled X's (and JT's) Year End Awards Post!!! So huzzah to that. And hey, it's Wednesday, which means it's time for another edition of New Comic Day, and yes, we have to give a huzzah for that as well! I am the recently returned X, who needs to thank JT for picking up my slack last week. I'll probably have one more bad week coming up soon, which means I'll be leaning on JT once more, and then I should be good to go, hopefully for the rest of my life. But that's still a few weeks away and I have a few things to talk about before then. First order of business... JT and I have been discussing things happening here at the blog our past few conversations and have decided to make some small changes to the way things work. Most of you won't notice anything, so no worries, but after the recent spoiler garbage, it was time to make a slight change... Secondly, and more importantly, the year end post! That will be up, posted and ready to go on December 31st at 8PM. So the same time I post all of my reviews. JT and I aren't gonna post anything on January 1st, so there's plenty of time to check that out. I always have a blast typing that post, and with JT here this year, it should be that much better. Okay, with the housekeeping out of the way, on to this week and the comic books I'll be picking up... Amazing Spider-Man #700, Avenging Spider-Man #15.1, Deathmatch #1. And that's it?!? What the HELL is THAT?!? Wow... I'll be reviewing Spidey #700 this week, in two posts. Thursday I'll take on the main story, and on Saturday I'll tackle the back-up stories. So Thursday and Saturday are my review days(with Monday being the Year Ender) this week. Annnnnnd that'll do it. We've covered a lot here, and I think it's time for JT to put in his two cents for the week. As for me? X out! That's right, X out, MY saying! Damn that thieving JT!!!
Thanks for that super post X and I'm glad you're feeling better buddy, and I'm glad to help pick up the slack here. Now that the best has been saved for last, it's JT Time. As X said the Fifth Annual unnamed awards are coming up, and I'm excited to be apart of them for the first time ever, so be sure to come check those out on the last day of the year. Since X hit all the major points I'll just jump to my reviews for this week. I plan on picking up Amazing Spider-Man #700, Avenging Spider-Man #15.1, Justice League #15 and Deathmatch #1. My two review days this week are Friday and Sunday, and I'll be reviewing Avenging Spider-Man on Friday and Justice League on Sunday. But that's it for me, I'll be back Friday with my first review of the week, so until next time, JT out! Yes... I'm STILL saying it, do something sucka!

New Comic Day! December 19th edition
Hey guys and gals, JT here with this week's New Comic Day post! Before we jump into it, just wanna let you guys know that the blog is my hands this weeks. Without getting into specifics, X is having some health problems, so while he tries to heal up and feel better, I told him I'd take over and give him the week off. So, that said, get well soon amigo! Now with that taken care of, let's check out my comic haul for the week, shall we? I picked up Idolized #4, Green Lantern #15, Nightwing #15 (only for Death of the Family!) Red Hood and the Outlaws #15 (See Nightwing), Saga #8, All New X-Men #4, Avengers Arena #2, Hawkeye #6, Scarlet Spider #12.1, Thor: God of Thunder #3, Thunderbolts 2, and Ultimate Spider-Man #18. Wooooo! That's a total of 12 comics for me, and if ya think THAT'S bad, X said he has 24 this week... Well, let's see, I'm not gonna promise a review everyday, but I will promise at least three, anything more than that is a bonus! I will review All New X-Men #4, Ultimate Spider-Man #18 and Hawkeye #6, if I do more, those may be abridged reviews but I doubt you guys mind. So, expect those reviews starting Thursday, until then, this is JT, signi...nah, screw that, since he's gone this week, I'm stealing it. JT out!

New Comic Day! December 5th edition
Hey comic crew, JT here with this week's New Comic Day post! This week I actually have a pretty decent haul of comics, so let's jump right into them, shall we? This week I picked up Detective Comics #15, Earth 2 #7, Smallville Season 11 #8, Invincible #98, All New X-Men #3 (again already?!) Amazing Spider-Man #699, Avengers #1, Hawkeye #5 and Thunderbolts #1! This week, I plan on reviewing All New X-Men #3, Amazing Spider-Man #699 (the last one I'll review since X gets #700) and lastly, Invincible #98! My review days are Friday, Sunday and Tuesday, so expect to see my reviews then. And that's it for me, now to hand things over to my buddy X.
Oh snap, I'm getting Spidey #700?! I'll have to send JT an Xmas present or something now! Anyway, happy NCD folks! I am the smarter and better looking blogger around these parts, the man known only as X. And here are the comics I'll be picking up this week... Hypernaturals #6, Stormwatch #15, Invincible #98, All New X-Men #3, Amazing Spider-Man #699, Avengers #1, Avenging Spider-Man #15(maybe...), Hawkeye #5, Iron Man #3, Punisher Warzone #2, Ultimates #18.1, Thunderbolts #1 & X-Factor #248... Hey, those are some pretty good books there! I'm kind of spoiled for choice when it comes to what to review... I guess I'll go with Hawkeye #5, Thunderbolts #1 and Avengers #1. My reviews will be up on Thursday, Saturday and Monday. As for the first review of the week, I'm currently leaning towards Thunderbolts since I figure I'll enjoy it more, but I may just do Avengers first to get it out of the way... Needless to say, I am not a big fan of new Avengers scribe Jonathan Hickman... But yeah, one of those two books will get the Thursday review. And that's that. Until next time, X out.

New Comic Day! November 7th Edition
Hey Blog Readers that are unfortunately referred to as X-Maniacs, JT here with the first half of this week's New Comic Day post. As always, I will review three comics over the next week, as will my cohort X. Everything we don't review will get a mention over at X-Man's Comic Forum. So let's get to it shall we? My comic haul this week includes Detective Comics #14, Green Lantern #14, Legends of the Dark Knight #2, Smallville Season 10 #7, Avengers Academy #39 (The final issue), Avenging Spider-Man #14, AVX Consequences #5, Deadpool #1, Iron Man #1, and Scarlet Spider #11. So with a grand total of ten comics, I have plenty to choose from. I think I'm going leave Avengers Academy for my buddy X, poetic justice since he's reviewed a majority of the issues here. I'll review AVX Consequences #5, Green Lantern #14, and Scarlet Spider #11. My review days this week are Friday, Sunday and Tuesday, so now I'll hand things over to my running mate, good ol' X!
Running mate, eh? I DO like the sound of President X... Although I'd be constantly watching my back with JT as my Vice President... Anyway, as JT did indeed point out, it is time for this week's NCD post! So huzzah!! With JT getting a surprising 10 books(what is it, a full moon or something?!), let's dig into the old comic bag and see what I wound up with... Hypernaturals #5, Stormwatch #14, Avengers #33, Avengers Academy #39, Avenging Spider-Man #14, AvX: Consequences #5, Deadpool #1, Iron Man #1, Scarlet Spider #11, Uncanny X-Force #33, X-Factor #246. Hey, I edged JT out by a single comic! I'll be reviewing Avengers Academy #39, Iron Man #1 and Deadpool #1(which I'm kind of surprised JT didn't take for himself.). My review days are Thursday, Saturday and Monday, with Academy getting the first review of the week. Like my VP, JT said, any of the books that aren't reviewed here, WILL get a review over at the forum, so don't forget to check that place out. Annnnnd, that's it. Until next time, X out.

New Comic Day! October 3rd edition.
Huzzah, it's another New Comic Day!! This is actually a big week, as we get the final part of Avengers vs X-Men... One guess at what this week's first review is going to be... Anyway, this looks to be a relatively small comic week for me. How small, well, see for yourself! Hypernaturals #4, Stormwatch #13, Fatale #8, Amazing Spider-Man #695, Avengers Academy #38, Avengers vs X-Men #12, AvX VS #6, Minimum Carnage Alpha #1, Uncanny X-Force #32. Yep, Ol' X is only getting 9 books... And I can't even read two of them(Hypernaturals and Fatale) because I'm not caught up with those two series! So that's only SEVEN review-able books for me! I'll be doing four reviews this week(I know, MADNESS!!!), with the first one on tap for 8PM tonight. That book? AvX #12, of course. I'll also be reviewing AvX VS #6, Amazing Spider-Man #695 and Uncanny X-Force #32(you see that, JT! I left Avengers Academy for you, 'cause I'm such a nice guy!). My review days are Thursday, Saturday and Monday this week, and as always, you can expect my reviews up at 8PM. Unlike that other guy... Speaking of that other guy, let's see what JT picked up and plans on reviewing. X out, JT up.
And now that the boring guy has spoken, welcome to JT's New Comic Day, starring JT, featuring JT and a special guest appearance by none other than JT! My comic week is actually pretty impressive, as I ended up grabbing the following books, Detective Comics #13, Earth 2 #5, Green Lantern #13, Worlds' Finest #5, Amazing Spider-Man #695, Avengers Academy #38, Avengers vs. X-Men #12, AVX VS. #6, and Minimum Carnage Alpha #1. And unlike that first guy, my reviews will be up BEFORE 8 PM, because it's a review, not dinner. :P And since my buddy X did leave me Avengers Academy, out of guilt probably, or a trap, you can expect me to review Avengers Academy #38, Green Lantern #13, and Minimum Carnage Alpha #1. My review days are Friday, Sunday and Tuesday, so expect to see those reviews then. Til then, this is JT, signing off.

New Comic Day! September 5th edition.
It's Wednesday, it's the first week in September, and I am X. What does it mean when you put those three things together? It means it's New Comic Day of course! This is actually my first NCD post since June 6th... Which is actually a hell of a long time... Anywho, let's get to the heart of this post... The comic books! I ended up coming home from the comic shop with the following books: Hypernaturals #3, Stormwatch #0, Hell Yeah #5, Amazing Spider-Man #693, Avengers Academy #36, Dark Avengers #180, Deadpool #60, First X-Men #2, Hawkeye #2, Invincible Iron Man #524, Mighty Thor #19, Venom #24, X-Factor #243. So Ol' X ended up with 13 books for the week. That is the perfect number of books in my honest opinion. Not too many, not too few, just perfect. As for JT, he'll post what he's getting a little bit later on in the post... Probably. We're still getting used to this whole "sharing the blog," thing.
Now, normally this is the part of the post where I give my Pick and Runt of the Litter, or the comics I most and least want to read. This time around though not only will I tell you the Pick and the Runt, I'll tell you which comics you can expect JT and myself to review over the course of the next 6 days... First things first, the comic book I'm most looking forward to reading this week is Amazing Spider-Man #693. And this was actually a very difficult decision because there are a lot of really strong books dropping this week... Spidey, Avengers Academy, Deadpool, Hawkeye, Thor, Venom, etc. What puts Spidey over the top for me? One word... Alpha. 'Nuff said. This week's Runt of the Litter? That has to be Hell Yeah #5. I was thisclose to dropping that series last month, but a strong #4 gave this series a reprieve. As it is though, this series is still on a pretty short leash, meaning a less than stellar issue could easily see this comic leaving my pull list. Next up are the comics I plan on reading out of that bunch... Spidey and Hawkeye are definite, and will be posted Thursday and Saturday respectively. I'm also leaning towards reviewing Venom for Monday, but I could easily be swayed to review something else... Just sayin'... As for JT, I know he'll be reviewing Avengers Academy and Deadpool. Much like myself though, he was undecided on that final review. As of right now, the next four days will see reviews for Spidey, Avengers Academy, Hawkeye and Deadpool. Monday and Tuesday's reviews? To be determined... And that's gonna do it. Until next time? X out.
And JT has tagged in! Hey guys, since X has done all the heavy lifting, for ONCE, I'm just gonna pop in and let you guys know what I picked up Earth 2 #0, Green Lantern #0, Smallville #5, World's Finest #0, Guarding The Globe #1, Amazing Spider-Man #693, Avengers Academy #36, Deadpool #60, First X-Men #2, Hawkeye #2, Venom #24, and Ultimate Spider-Man numero 14. Like X mentioned, I'm definitely reviewing Avengers Academy and Deadpool, but for my last review I'll leave it in the hands of the people. It's a democracy up in here! Well, for me anyway. :P As of right now, I'm leaning towards First X-Men or GL, but you guys decide, and expect to see it on Tuesday, til then, we are outta here!

Irredeemable #37
First new review for this week? The final issue of Irredeemable... This series has been, for lack of a better word, brilliant. Has every issue been a perfect 10? No, but every issue HAS been solid, and this series was built on a magnificent premise... What if Superman went bad? And I don't mean, stopped helping people or used his powers for his own profit bad, I mean went totally Dr. Doom levels of bad? That idea has given me 37 issues where I have been actively(and happily) routing against the main character in a comic. Here's hoping this issue finally gives us the Plutonian FINALLY getting his comeuppance.
Irredeemable #37(Final Issue):
Story Points:
-Before the Plutonian could kill him, Qubit teleports the bullet he stole from Bette Noir all of those issues ago into the Plutonian's heart... The same bullet that could actually kill him... IF Qubit stopped thinking about it.
-Now with this piece of blackmail hanging over his head(or more appropriately, in his chest), Qubit tells the Plutonian to circle the Earth and to collect all of the radiation poisoning the planet.
-The Plutonian does as asked, since Qubit had promised to give Plutonian a new chance at life to get it right.
-Having collected ALL of the radiation, the Plutonian flies back to Qubit, who opens a teleportational portal and sends the radiation into it, saving the Earth.
-However, the radiation has absolutely decimated the Plutonian's body, leaving him weakened and on the brink of death.
-The Plutonian asks why Qubit lied to him, and Qubit explains that he didn't lie, he was going to disperse Plutonian's essence through thousands of alternate realities with the hope that in one of those, the Plutonian could be redeemed...
-And that's it. The Plutonian's world has finally been saved and the Plutonian is gone...
-Or is he???
-This issue ends with two very young comic book creators by the names of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster having suddenly come up with the idea of a certain superman...
Thoughts: Needless to say, this issue was rather bittersweet... This is the last time I'll get to read about Qubit(who had become a favorite character of mine) or Kaiden, or anybody else from this universe... However, I guess it's NOT the last time I'll be reading about the Plutonian since he lives on in Superman! THAT was a sweet piece of storytelling by Mark Waid, which should come as no surprise to anybody. Waid is one of the top writers in all of comics and it's no shock that he ended this issue so wonderfully. In the end, the Plutonian DID kind of get redeemed, as he was reimagined as the greatest hero in the DC Universe. My heart tells me this was a perfect comic book, my head tells me it was a really, really good one. In the case of this comic, I'm definitely going to go with my heart.
Score: 10 out of 10.

New Comic Day! May 23 edition.
It's Wednesday. It's an indiscriminate time in the middle of the day. I'm probably sound asleep after a night at work... You know what all of those things added together mean, don't you??? That's right, it's time for a freshly minted edition of New Comic Day!!! Huzzah!!! I am, and always have been your host, Vampire X, and this week looks... Well, instead of me talking about it, how about we first take a gander at which comic books I intend on picking up in a few hours time... Irredeemable #37, I, Vampire #9, Justice League Dark #9, Teen Titans #9, Voodoo #9, Amazing Spider-Man #686, Captain America #12, Captain America and Hawkeye #631, Deadpool #55, Journey Into Mystery #638, Mighty Thor #14, Secret Avengers #27, Ultimate X-Men #12. I also plan on getting Batman: The Dark Knight #9, Hulk Smash Avengers #4(starring the West Coast Avengers!) as well as MAYBE picking up Astonishing X-Men #50 & Batman Incorporated #1 too... So that's a definite 13 books, up to a possible 17 books, if I do get those extra books... 13? That's a perfect number for a week. 17? Not so much.
Anyway, this week's Pick of the Litter could go to a number of books, because there's not really one that jumps out at me. Well, that's not exactly true... This week's #1 pick, and the first book I plan on reviewing is going to be Irredeemable #37, the final issue... Irredeemable has been a fantastic series. Mark Waid has done a fantastic job with this series. I am going to be genuinely sorry to see it end. For those of you who don't know, Irredeemable is/was a series that examined what would happen to the world if Superman went totally insane and decided he was going to punish society instead of helping it. All I'll say is I honestly hope this series ends in one of two manners... Either the Plutonian finally dies to answer for all of his horrendous acts(and NOT in a heroic fashion!), or the Plutonian kills the final few people who could stand up against him(namely Qubit) and this series simply ends with the Plutonian continue to batter his hapless world into submission. I really hope this series doesn't end with the Plutonian being redeemed in some way, shape or manner... But enough about that, on the other end of the spectrum is this week's Runt of the Litter, Voodoo #9... This is a series I was hoping for so much from. Unfortunately, it's been going nowhere since the SHOCKING clone-related swerve from a few issues back. After the mess with Spidey in the mid-90's, you'd think comic writers would have learned to avoid changing main characters with clones(and vice-versa), but alas, they haven't. Now, I SHOULD have that post for Irredeemable up tonight(as well as two reviews left over from last week), and I'm hoping to get another fresh review up for tomorrow(along with the remainder of last week's books), before getting back into my two new books a night groove. But as always, my plans tend to be very fluid... And that's that. Until later on tonight, Vampire X out.

Irredeemable #36
Wow, one more issue and then this series is history... I think it's one more issue... It may be two, but regardless, the Irredeemable saga is almost at an end. I can't wait to see how it all shakes out...
Irredeemable #36:
Summary: Gil, Kaidan and Scylla are attacked by one of the Plutonian's goons on the orders of Modeus(who was in the guise of Bette Noir). In order to defeat the villain, Sy sacrifices his life... well, his ghost life, to save the woman he loves in Kaidan. Meanwhile, Modeus is gloating after having had sex with the Plutonian in Bette's body last issue. However, Qubit arrives on the scene and attacks Modeus. Qubit can't stop Modeus/Bette on his own, and tells the recently awakened Plutonian to do it... The only way Modeus could be stopped was if the Plutonian killed him/her, and all three characters present know that. The Plutonian makes Qubit ask the Plutonian to kill Modeus, just to prove that Qubit wasn't as high and mighty as he liked to think of himself as. Once Qubit asks, the Plutonian blasts Modeus/Bette violently, killing Bette's body. Modeus leaps into Qubit's mind, hoping to take him over, but soon realizes that Qubit had planned for this, and had erected massive psychic barriers in his mind to contain Modeus. With Modeus now at Qubit's mercy, Qubit goes through Modeus's mind and discovers the way to save the Earth from the massive radiation fallout that was threatening it. Qubit tells the Plutonian that once he did what was necessary, Qubit would allow the Plutonian his second chance at life... Unfortunately for Qubit, the Plutonian discovered that Qubit had been lying about that second chance all along, and this issue ends with the Plutonian calling Qubit on that very fact(!)..
Thoughts: I'm gonna miss this series when it's gone.. It's been a really good read. Anyway, as for this issue? It was okay. It wasn't great or anything, but it WAS good. It all does seem rushed(for example, why have Modeus sleep with the Plutonian in Bette's body and then kill Bette's body off this issue... That seemed like it could have led to something...), but the cliffhanger here, and the final confrontation between the Plutonian(the world's strongest man) and Qubit(the world's smartest man) to close out this series should be awesome... Or at least I hope so...
Score: 7 out of 10.
You got caught, Modeus! HA!!
