New Comic Day! April 10th edition.

Hey Comic fans, JT here to start off this week's New Comic Day. In case you're new here, Myself and my buddy X name which books we're getting, which books we plan on reviewing on our review days, and the remaining books are usually included in the Best of the Rest post on Monday. So, now that you're all caught up, let's get to it! This week, I expect to pick up Batman #19, Batman and Red Robin #19, Saga #12, Walking Dead #109, Age of Ultron #5, Alpha: Big Time #3, Avenging Spider-Man #19, Hawkeye #9, Thor: God of Thunder #7, Secret Avengers #3, Ultron #1AU, Uncanny Avengers #6, Uncanny X-Men #4, and Wolverine #2. So with a total of 14 books, expect reviews for Avenging Spider-Man, Batman, and Uncanny X-Men on Friday, Sunday and Tuesday. Now I'll hand things over to my buddy X, til next time, this is JT, signing off!

And now we head back to reality and away from the Bizarro World of JT.  Yes, it's X time!  Here's hoping everybody is having a good New Comic Day.  I see that JT is getting a mess of books again this week...  The question is, will he get more books than me for the second straight week?!  Let's see what I'll be getting...  Batman #19, Superboy #19, Team 7 #7, Saga #12, Walking Dead #109, Age of Ultron #5, Alpha: Big Time #3, Avenging Spider-Man #19, Fantastic Four #6, Hawkeye #9, Thor: God of Thunder #7, Ultimates #23, Ultron #1AU, Uncanny Avengers #6, Uncanny X-Men #4, Secret Avengers #3...  Hey, check it out, I'm buying the entire comic shop this week!  Plus I may pick up Avengers Assemble #14 if I see it.  So that's a definite 16 books, possibly 17.  So yeah, lots of reading this week...  I'm honestly not sure what I'll be reviewing...  Age of Ultron #5 is a definite for Thursday, as for Saturday...  I'm thinking either Ultron #1AU or Uncanny Avengers...  One or the other.  Whichever one I don't review for Saturday, I'll definitely cover in next Monday's Best of the Rest post.  And that's that.  Another NCD in the books.  Until tomorrow, X out.

  1. I didn't expect UXM to say who of the original five went with Cykes. Pretty interesting issue though.

  3. Jermox - I didn't expect that either, well I did after your comment lol, but I wouldn't have, since it seemed like something they'd save for AXM.

Lisha - It's okay lol. As for the reviews, Saga, Walking Dead, Batman and Red Robin, Thor, and Wolverine will all be up Monday, the rest, all throughout the week.

  4. Are you guys reading 'TEC? JT, I think you in particular might be enjoy it. It's pretty much the regular, crime-fighting Batman that we've been missing. I think it's my favorite Bat-book right now, to be honest.

    1. Huh, I actually thought JT was reading Detective... Shows how much I pay attention to him!

    2. I am actually reading Detective, I didn't get the last issue because it was a huge annual because it was the "900th" issue and I refused to pay for that since DC wants to have their cake and eat it too with that renumbering shit. But yeah, lol, I read Detective and I do enjoy it since Layman took over.

    3. You know, JT, it was almost worth the $7.99. I actually didn't realize it was that expensive when I bought it, since it was just in the stack of my pull comics. But, when I saw the price tag after finishing it, I actually felt OK. The three back-up stories are all really well done and directly relate to the main story (which, let's face it, is rare in these sorts of issues). I think my one complaint is that it probably would've been better if all four stories had been told as one story, with one artist. But, otherwise, it's a fun read. Plus, we get to see Penguin start to put in motion his rage-fueled attack of Emperor Penguin, which I think is going to be seriously entertaining.

    4. well you know I respect your recommendations so I'll check it out...somehow, lol. I think it was moreso them trying to "honor" the 900th issue and get extra money when they're the ones who threw out the numbering, which annoyed me the most.

  5. Hey guys, wow I haven't commented here in a while. Hahah. What're you guys' thoughts on the fact that Booster is coming back in All-Star Western 19? Because I know that, while I haven't been buying All-Star Western, I plan to buy it. So far I have every issue featuring a (large) appearance of Booster in the New 52 (which is only a total of 15 issues so far, but still). So while I'm upset about the additional $3.99 for this month (and possibly longer), I plan to stick it out. What're you guys' thoughts on it? I'm hoping it'll be good. It needs to be, right?

Here's the cover in case you haven't seen:
