Trying to catch up...

Whew. That's 8 new quick reviews up and posted today. And believe it or not, I'm not done yet! With my hell week at school over with, I can spend a little more time pursuing my three favorite hobbies; comic books, video games and sleeping! I've also been kind of lax with responding to comments left here at the blog, but tonight I promise to respond to any and all comments left for me. That's it for now, it's time for me to get back into the world of Fallout 3. X out.

  3. Yeah, I got home today and decided to bust out TONS of half-assed reviews! :P AND I fully intend to put at least 5 more up come tomorrow... I know, MADNESS!!!

Actually I AM loving Fallout, JT! Today was the day that I really got pulled into it. After I finished up the reviews, I played that for a good 5 straight hours. So far, so great!

  4. I remember playing Fallout 3 for about that long without stopping when I first got it as well. So how are you playing the game, as more of a good guy or a bad guy (or somewhere in the middle)?

  5. I really wanna play that now, I'll probably get it around December so it can hold me over til Dragon Age 2 when I'm not playing the new Call of Duty online.

  6. Check out the X-man posting up those reviews like it isn't nothing!!!

And I am glad to hear you've been spending so much time with Fallout!! Lol. I just saw Fallout Vegas is coming out soon...wonder if the X-Man will get caught up in that as well.

As usual, I'll get a chance to read some comics this weekend so I'll be back around to comment and whatnot. :)

Continue to have fun with FO3

  7. I'd consider my character a good guy, Marc. No unnecessary killing, stealing, etc(although I have been known to swipe some ammo if I see it laying around...) You know a game is really good when you're playing it and looking ahead to the next playthrough. I'm pretty curious to see how things are different when you play as a thieving, stealing bastard.

Yeah, I'm sure you can get the game for cheap, so I'd def say give it a shot, JT.

I saw the New Vegas DL content, Lisha! I can see myself picking it up in about a month or so. I still have LOTS of stuff to do in the base game, so I'm gonna hold off on any of the DL stuff for now.

  8. That's how I play Fallout as well, X. Some people play games like that as if they're a different person than they actually are, but I always play them as if it were me in the character's position. That means doing the right thing for the most part, although occasionally being a bit mischievous. ;)

One of my favorite things to do in Fallout 3 when I was playing it a lot was to just explore the world. And I was always scavenging through wreckage and stuff too, which I figured would definitely be something I'd do in a world like that, where your biggest concern is just whether you'll survived to the next day.

  9. Yeah, agreed. The first playthrough I'm always the white hat/good guy. Now I'll admit that at times that's tough, 'cause I really want to smack a few people around with that Deathclaw Gauntlet, but much like in real life, I restrain myself... But some people I just can't help but mess with. Like those rich people in Tenpenny Tower. I lost SO much good karma because I kept stealing from their rooms! They just really bugged me.

Next playthrough I'll be the total opposite of my current character, just to see how the other half lives. It's gonna be tough, but I'll be a thieving, murdering monster of a character.

As for scavenging, that's what's so awesome about this game! I haven't done ANYTHING towards the main storyline in like 2 or 3 days now. I've just been wandering around the Capital Wasteland, killing Super Mutants and taking in the haunting sights. I mean the first time I approached the Capitol Building was just... it was both horrible and impressive at the same time. And the Lincoln Memorial? The Washington Monument, I could literally just walk through the remains of the National Mall for hours on end(and I have!). Learning the backstory with the Chinese and stuff, storywise this game is pretty much perfect to me. I am such a geek for sci-fi futuristic stories, and this game SO fits that bill!

  10. I haven't even come close to finishing the story in Fallout 3, just because whenever I start up the game I inevitably start wandering around and taking in the world. No matter how much you've already seen, it seems like there's always something new for you to explore.

  11. That is SO true! Just today I spent a good 4 hours wandering around the Nuka-Cola plant trying to find some Nuka-Cola Quantums for that Nuka-Cola obsessed girl. Along the way I helped Reilly's Rangers and then started mapping the Mall area for them. While doing that I happened across the Vault-Tec Headquarters building, which showed me the locations of 4 hidden Vaults on my Pip-boy! And on top of that the Northwest corner of my map has barely even been touched! The depth of this game, along with all of the neat little stories and touches the developers put in it makes me just not want to put it down! I'm currently on level 19, so I'm SERIOUSLY considering picking up the expansion pack that lets you raise your levels up to 30.
