New Comic Day!

Hey X-Maniacs, it may be two days late, but it's finally New Comic Day! Anywho, I didn't get much from the comic store this week(for me anyway), but a glutton of comics came in the mail, so I'll list everything I got today(comic book store or mail)and leave it up to you guys to let me know what you're interested in. First the comic book store stuff: X-Men #3, Thanos Imperative #4, Shadowland: Blood on the Streets #2, Invincible Iron Man #30, Booster Gold #36, Batgirl #14. Next up are my subscription books: Action Comics #892, Green Arrow #3, Gotham City Sirens #15, Batman #702, and finally Wonder Woman #602. So if any of those comics interest you, drop me a comment and I'll try to get a review up for it. And that's about it. I fully intend on posting a review for Avengers: The Children's Crusade #2 at some point during this weekend, because it was AWESOME and deserves a review! Other than that, I've got nothin'... X out.

  1. How long have you been buying Iron Man? I forgot you were even getting that, and then I looked and saw you had reviewed #27 as well. Must've missed that one before.

How's Thanos Imperative, or are you waiting until it's over to read it? And are the X-Men still getting turned into vampires or whatever in X-Men #3?

Oh, and don't forget to come online tonight!

  2. Not very long... I think #27 was probably the first one I picked up. I can't say they've really impressed me though...

No, this is one mini that I couldn't resist reading right away! So far Thanos Imperative has been fantastic. The whole Life vs Death story(but in reverse)has been a great read so far.

I think this issue of X-Men heralds the return of Dracula, so I wouldn't be shocked to see a bunch of mutants changed pretty soon. I'll try to get reviews for those 3 books up eventually.

Ahh, I shall endeavor to be there!

  3. Awesome! I say you should review Batgirl, Action Comics and Green Arrow. I'm super shocked you didn't pick up Daken Dark Wolverine or Daredevil, so those must be coming in the mail right?

  4. Done, done and done, JT! I'll put those comics on the top of the pile. I do have my first English paper due this coming Friday, as well as my first science test on Monday, so I can't say when I'll have them up, but I'll try to have them up eventually(which is my word of the day!)

I saw Daken and DD at the CB store and it KILLED me, but I couldn't pick 'em up, because they are indeed subscription books... I think I have about 5 more issues to go on most of my subscriptions, and then I'll be picking everything up at the cb shop! Can't wait for that day to come!

  5. Awesome dude, and no rush at all. As for the Dark Wolverine stuff, sucks ya gotta wait, but if you start picking up Wolverine and X-23, I'll use your reviews to keep me updates since I'm only thinking about following Daken now.

  6. WHAT!? X didn't buy out the comic shop this round!! Lol. I'm shocked!!!

Well I've finally managed to get around to the blog world....this 8 am algebra class already has my brain rattled. Lol. Buuut, you know I'm already looking forward to the review of Wonder Woman #602. I think we are on different wavelengths with this comic and I love it!! lol. I cannot wait to see what you have to say.

Along with others I'm looking forward to reviews for: Shadowland: Blood on the Streets #2, Batgirl #14, Green Arrow #3, Gotham City Sirens #15.

    Please and thank you!!!

Oh by the way, possible hilarious chat Saturday night? Lol. I miss you guys, like crazy.

  7. I'll be online tonight, for sure. I have the feeling even more hilarity will ensue than usual if we everyone brings a microphone to the party. More "art criticism," perhaps? :) (I don't know how much of that part Falisha heard last week, but JT should know what I'm talking about!)

  8. I'll definitely be getting Wolverine(it's one of my subscription books), and I'm almost certain that I'll give the X-23 book a try. As much as I hate the X-23 character, I like Marjorie Liu, so I'll prob try it out.

HA!!! Yeah, I walked out of the cb store kind of depressed, Falisha! Usually my bag is overflowing with comics... I'll have to make up for it next week. And I shall move WW up in my cb pile. As for GA and Batgirl, I read 'em last night, so hopefully I can get a review for them up soon.

  9. Awesome, so did that carry over from Origins or did you have to place an order for the new Wolverine Series? And what if Yost takes over after the first arc for that X-23? Haha

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yeah, the new Wolverine series rolls over from Origins, so I have like 5 issues left on the subscription until I'm free.

Well I'd drop that series like it was hot! :P

  11. Ah interesting, if you end up liking that Wolverine series I'll probably read it. Who's writing it anyway?

Haha, Drop it like it's hooot...

  12. The guy who was writing Wolverine: Weapon X is actually writing the new Wolverine series. Jason Aaron I believe.

  13. Oh really? Well I liked his work so I may check it out, I'll see what you think with issue two since issue one was just previews.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Dude, issue 1 actually wasn't a preview. I read it today at school and it kind of sets the stage for what's going on with Wolvie in hell and still somehow on earth.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hm, I thought you said it was a preview kinda for his story, Daken's and X-23's? Damn you and your misleading words X! :P

    ReplyDelete
  16. No, no, no, JT! Wolverine: Road to Hell #1 was the preview stories. Wolverine #1 was the actual beginning of the "Road to Hell" storyline! Blame Marvel for the confusion! :P

    ReplyDelete
  17. AH!!!!! Got ya... damn them! So is Road to Hell JUST a preview or is that ANOTHER series altogether?

If I wanna follow the story does that mean I have to get Wolverine, Daken and X-23 to not be confused?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Damn Marvel and their confusing antics! Yeah, Wolverine: Road to Hell was just a one-shot that detailed what was going to be happening in Wolverine's corner of the Marvel U. The Wolverine series details Wolverine actually going to Hell, and why his soul-less body is still running amok.

As for the last part of that question, I honestly can't say for sure... I mean the X-23 comic had NOTHING to do with the whole, "Wolverine's in Hell!!!" story, and Daken's book only made some fleeting references(like when Daken told that Red Hand guy he betrayed him)to the overall story. I guess the best way I can put it is like this, right now the three series seem to be independent of each other, but knowing Marvel, down the road they'll have a big x-over where all three titles will end up crossing over.

  19. Interesting, I may have to pick that up. Why's he in hell if at the end of Origins he was all happy about his future?

Ah interesting, I was wondering who the shadowed guy was and what the hell the backstory there was but I figured they just hadn't revealed it yet.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Who knows why Wolvie's in Hell... That hasn't been revealed yet. I'd actually love to know that as well, since we all know Wolvie is practically indestructable! Then again, since his body is still running around, maybe he's not as dead as I think he is.

    ReplyDelete
  21. So all the while, he's in hell, and at the same time his body is running around, and somehow he's also a Vampire in another story as well... that's one busy mutant...

    ReplyDelete
  22. HA! Don't forget he's also in the future with the Avengers, dealing with magic with the New Avengers, preparing to face Apocalypse with X-Force and living on Utopia with the other mutants... Yeah, Wolvie is one BUSY dude!

    ReplyDelete
  23. And he wonders why he can't remember his damn past.... How can he remember what he's doing in the present?!

    ReplyDelete
  24. HA!!! That's funny 'cause it's true!
