Thor #609: Writer: Kieron Gillen. Art: Rich Elson, Billy Tan & Batt
Last Issue: 8 out of 10.
Review: This comic takes place directly after the fall of Asgard in Siege #3. Volstagg crawls out of the rubble while the other Asgardians try to fight off the Hood's men who were still lurking around the ruins of Asgard. Loki chooses this moment to reveal himself to the king of Asgard, Balder, but Balder refuses to believe Loki's claims that he had nothing to do with Osborn's invasion of Asgard, although he does readily admit that he isn't saddened by Asgard's fate. Balder decides to rally the few Asgardians who were left, and once he has called his forces to him, he exiles Loki from Asgard forever. This issue ends with Loki smiling and saying to himself that although exiled, he will still wind up responsible for saving Asgard and getting the last laugh at Balder.
What I Thought: This issue really didn't do much for me. Thor didn't show up, nor did Ragnarok, and Loki's parts were just kind of weird. I'm not sure why he wouldn't take credit for Osborn's attack, while claiming that he was partially responsible for what happened. That just didn't really make sense to me... Besides that, there was some back story that was being wrapped up, as well as Volstagg still bumbling around. Not exactly the ingredients to a great comic in my most humble opinion.
Score: 6 out of 10.I just figured I'd post a pic of Loki being abused...
