Simply Awesome!

I'm just about finished with the "All-Star Batman & Robin The Boy Wonder" hardcover I've been reading, and quite frankly, I think it's one of the single greatest things I've EVER read. I just figured I'd post that before turning in for the night. By tomorrow, I'll probably have finished it up and should have a review about it on this blog.

I'd always heard that Frank Miller was a great/legendary comic book writer, but I think this might be one of the first things I've ever read that was penned him. I may have caught some of his work on Daredevil, but not enough to really form an opinion on his writing. I'll tell you this much, after reading most of this book, I'll be ravenously hunting down his past comic book work.

  1. Wow! I'm going to have to put this on my mental list of trades to pick up after the holidays. Is it available in softcover yet?

  2. Nope, I'm pretty sure DC has only released these issues in hardcover format. I paid $20 for it, but I would imagine it's probably available cheaper depending on where you look.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this series to anybody. It's way darker than the regular Batman stories, and Batman himself is practically insane, but the story and the complexity of the characters was just phenomenal.

The main thing to keep in mind though is that this is an alternate version of Batman, not the main DCU Batman. All-Star Batman is nothing like his counterpart!
