Jeez, I really miss Hawkeye and the West Coast Avengers... Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that Hawkeye is currently Ronin, but it's not the same. I miss Clint Barton the swashbuckling archer. Clint Barton the sullen samurai just does nothing for me.

ReplyDeleteAnyway, I have an irrational love of the West Coast Avengers, mainly since it was just starting when I first started reading comics, so I got in on the ground floor. That said, there was some horrible art (Al Milgrom's) and some bad stories, but still, I loved that series. I really wish they would get at least an Essential collection of those early issues.
Yeah, I totally agree with you. I've actually gone back and collected the whole West Coast Avengers series a while back. I just couldn't get enough of Hawkeye and company. Hawkeye could always make me laugh with his comments/actions.
ReplyDeleteStorywise though, especially towards the middle and end of the series, AWC became really hard to get through. Even still, to this day, I like looking back at these comics. Some of the stuff with Hank Pym and Ultron 12 were laugh out loud funny!
