Teen Titans #8

It's Monday(I think...) so we're reaching the end of the comic week, and as such are starting to get near the bottom of the comic pile. We'll start off the night in DC land with the latest issue of Teen Titans. Now, if history is any kind of indicator, this comic should be bad. The only question is how bad...

Teen Titans #8:

Summary: This issue starts off with the Titans locked up and being tormented by Omen, one of Harvest's MANY goons. When the hell was Omen introduced anyway... Did I miss an issue or block something out or something? Anyway, Omen plays evil mind games on the team like making Tim think he was a real bird, making Skitter think she was split into two different beings and making Bart think he was running around in his boxer briefs... The horror!!! In the end, the team finds out that none of that really happened(or at least I don't think it did...) and Harvest has Omen hand the Teen Titans over to yet ANOTHER random goon of his, this one named Leash.

Thoughts: Yup, this issue happened alright. That's really about all I have to say about it actually... Nothing of any major importance happened here. If you missed this issue? You really didn't miss anything. The Titans are still in the clutches of Harvest, and are no closer to getting free. So while this comic wasn't the worst thing I've ever read, it was kind of a big waste of time.

Score: 5 out of 10.

IS coming a Final Exam for the Academy after AvX.. And is also hinted that after that a long-anticipated meeting with another group of teenage characters will follow....

  2. An Avengers Academy/Young Avengers meeting of any kind would lead to my computer literally exploding due to the sheer awesomeness of it all.

    1. This^

      For three reasons:
      1) Billy and Tommy bonding time with Uncle Pete
      2) Henry Pym's reaction to being a great grandfather
      3) I really wanna see Striker hit on of the the YA boys as obnoxiously as he did with woman XD

  3. Right, Anon?! And I KNOW Christos Gage would end up exploring all of those reasons based on the great job he did with the Runaways... And more!

Huh, I totally blanked on Pym being a GREAT-grandfather... There's something else that could lead to some great moments! Man, I really hope this happens...

    1. Vision married Wanda so he's related to the entire maximoff family. XD

Iron lad? How is he related to Iron lad?

    2. Iron Lad built Vision II, right??

  5. Yup, I was going to bring up the Wanda/Maximoff link, Alien. So that would include Billy and Tommy from the Young Avengers(through Vision I). Iron Lad is Kang(as a youth), so he's not connected to Hank in any way I can think. Vision II came from Iron Lad's armor(I think) but was based on the original Vision's brainwaves(I think). Victor and Vision I are direct "offspring" of Ultron. Jocasta and War Toy are two wives Ultron tried to create for himself. I think that's everybody... But I could easily be missing somebody here or there...

    1. I think the way they had it done was the it was Kang's armor that made the physical body, the Vision programming that was the software, but it was Iron Lad's brain pattern to give him a "soul". Its the same thing with Wonder Man and the original Vision. Which could be said that Wonder Man is Vision's brother so...

  6. Ok, I thought that Iron Lad was in some way related to him (havent read the first volume of Young Avengers)

And I didnt get that Vision is the father of Billy and Tommy (you know he is a Robot/android/wtv), but yeah Pym is Great Great father too.. and his Grandson and Grand-grand sons have almost the same age!!! (unless you count Victor real years)

  7. Wanda used her crazy magic/hex powers to create two children from her and the Vision. That's like the best way I can explain the birth of Billy and Tommy. Mainly just blame Wanda for that one! :P Yeah, this post actually surprised me as well... I didn't realize just how many "family" members Pym had running around!

    To hell with that!!
does even exist a contraceptive method against magic?

  10. I think you're right about the Vision/Iron Lad thing, Anon(sorry I had to put the response down here but I'm not able to nest the comment under yours for some bizarre reason...). He was based on Vision's programing, but since he was created from Iron Lad's armor he ended up gaining Iron Lad's brainwaves, which was why he immediately had the same attraction to Cassie that Iron Lad had. Oh yeah... The Vision/Wonder Man connection. There's another one. So in a way, you could say that Pym is distantly related to Wonder Man and Grim Reaper! Man, we should start a Six Degrees to Hank Pym game!

HA!! Not to my knowledge, Alien... That's the hazard of having an intimate relationship with a magic based character I guess... :D

    1. The grim reaper comment made me laugh because i remember reading somewhere than Billy Maximoff in another universe turned evil and took the name Grim Reaper

love how all the comments are about this and not the teen titan's issue

  11. YES! I JUST read that story too! It was the two-part Last Avengers Story written by(I'm almost positive) Peter David. I pulled those comics out and read them no more than two weeks ago, so it's funny that you mentioned it! Tommy went the magic route and Billy went the evil/Grim Reaper route.

HA! That's both funny and kind of sad actually!
