A quick update and a legitimate excuse!
So two nights ago I posted that I wanted to do a few reviews, and that I'd try to have them up by Wednesday night. Well you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men... See, I'm currently halfway finished with my summer Spanish course(only 11 days and 3 more tests to go!), and while I've been doing GREAT(so far I've gotten a 94%, 98% and a 96% on my first three tests!), the current topic is REALLY tough. For those of you who have taken some Spanish classes, I'm dealing with the preterite and imperfect tenses, and when each should be used. Going into this course, my professor warned us all that this would easily be the toughest topic, and it sure as hell is! It took me a good hour and a half to just do the homework, and then I spent an extra hour or so trying to study this stuff. So what this all means is that with the test on Thursday, there's NO way I'm going to be able to get any posts up until Thursday night at the absolute earliest, with sometime Friday being way more likely. Sorry, but getting an “A” in this class is more important then comics. Trust me, that line surprises me too! :-) I'll still make sure to check the blog out nightly to respond to any comments you guys leave, as well as frequenting my favorite blogs, but don't expect to see any substantial new material up until after I'm done with this test. I'll throw up a VERY quick New Comic Day post on Wednesday, but expect it to be pretty brief, since I should be studying like a madman come Wednesday afternoon/evening. So there you have it, my legitimate excuse for not doing those reviews anytime soon. Just so this post isn't a complete waste of time for whoever decides to read it, I'll end it with another scan of an alternate Batman costume. That's it for me, my tank is empty, and I NEED some sleep pronto! X out! From Batman: Knight Gallery(1995).
That costume was epic. It's like Batman mixed with Spawn with a little Deadpool color scheme thrown in.
ReplyDeleteEl pretérito fue difícil para mi, pero menos difícil que el subjuntivo y el futuro imperfecto. Probablemente es porque no hablamos mucho sobre el subjuntivo en inglés...es natura segunda para nosotros.
ReplyDelete^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Mind BLOWN! Did you put that in a translator or are you just extremely talented at Spanish? Btw I so google translated that.
ReplyDeleteI ain't talking any Spanish...
ReplyDeleteIt looks too Rob Leighfeld'y for my liking...
Good luck with that X. That was definitely a challenge for myself when I was in Spanish classes. But you're pretty genius you'll get it. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the Scan, that is a pretty fly costume. The red bothers me, but I'm used to all black dark knight. Lol.
I definetely like its though.
And Marc, typing all that just reassured me that I haven't forgotten my spanish. Lol. Great Job.
Nunca puda usar los traductores en el Internet, menos en el caso de las palabras individuales o para frases cortas. En mi opinión, es mas facíl para aprender una idioma que aprender cómo utilizar un traductor!
ReplyDeleteHot damn, Marc can speak some awesome Spanish! I am IMPRESSED! I had no clue you were bilingual mi amigo! I'm not sure if I'll be covering the future tense or subjunctive this semester(I HOPE not!). That might be later on down the road for me. Oh, and I TOTALLY agree about the use of online translators... They are most definitely NOT the way to go, since they can't tell what the context of the sentence is, and as such tend to get things wrong more often then not. I'd much rather study and use a good dictionary.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment Falisha! And as for that costume, the Spawn comparison is SO dead-on JT! I mean that cape just SCREAMS Spawn! How the hell didn't I catch that?!
I feel so outta the Spanish loop, so I'm gonna eat a Manzanna and layback til manana. Ya dig? :P Lol And yeah dude, first think I thought when I saw that cape is "Did he steal that from Spawn when they fought?"
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm definitely not bilingual! And who says I can even speak Spanish? All you saw is what I can write. ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't know Marc, if you can write Spanish THAT well, I'd have to think that you're at least conversational in it. I'd be surprised to read that you couldn't at least carry on a simple conversation en español.
