Since this comic really doesn't really have much to do with Blackest Night, I'm going to give it the quick review treatment. The writers are Geoff Johns and Peter Tomasi and there are a whole slew of artists.
-As with issue #1 of this mini, there are three separate stories contained in this comic book. The first one tells us of the privileged beginnings of future Red Lantern, Bleez. Bleez was some sort of princess, until she was captured by a member of the Sinestro Corps. She was brought to an intergalactic brothel of sorts and her wings were destroyed by her captor. She managed to escape captivity momentarily thanks to an attack on the brothel by the Green Lantern Corps, but she was quickly recaptured by her captor. It was then a Red ring of rage located her and she became a member of the Red Lanterns, killing her captive before leaving.
-Next up is a tale of the Star Sapphires and Carol Ferris. A Violet power ring locates Carol and asks her to become a Star Sapphire once again. Carol doesn't want to, until she learns that Hal Jordan(her longtime love)is in trouble. Upon discovering that she may be able to help Hal, Carol decides to don the Violet ring becoming a Star Sapphire yet again. Back on Zamaron, the Zamarions(the Guardians of the Star Sapphires)decree that Carol will become the leader of their Corps.
-The final tale is a strange little story about a God of Hunger. This God travelled around the universe, eating everything on a planet of value. Once it was satisfied there was nothing of value left on the planet, it would move on. This continued until the God travelled to Okaara and met Larfleeze, Agent Orange. The God demanded Larfleeze turn over all he held dear, and instead Larfleeze killed the God and made it a part of his Orange Lantern Corps.
Eh, there really wasn't much to this comic. For a Green Lantern fan(such as myself)this was a fun read, but it definitely wasn't instrumental to the main Blackest Night storyline. Out of the three stories, I enjoyed the Star Sapphire one the most. For a score, I'll give this comic a 7 out of 10.Yeah, this pic doesn't have anything to do with the story, but I liked it, so that's why it's here!
